Looks like Nutty is on a winner this time I do hope it works out for as she has spent so much time in a kennel.

Dear all - well here I am proud Mum to Nutmeg, or Nutty as she is known to many. I will try and post some pictures when I know how but thought you may like to hear that she is doing so well. She has settled beautifully and has the most patient and docile nature in the house. She is keeping a check on where we are at all times and is currently lying on my feet! She is an absolute joy and so responsive already to us. We cant believe she has only been here since yesterday - Out of the house she is undertandably nervous given the strangeness of it all and she is very wary of other dogs but with time she will be fine. We have been overwhelmed at reading the threads on her and cant believe so many people have simply overlooked her for so long - but we are glad that she waited for us even though we wished we had had her 2 years ago! Thank you to all who have offered such lovely good luck messages to us.
Will keep you posted.
By the way - she is very lively in the garden and has had us in stiches running and bounding round. She can jump so high!!!

Welcome Kendra. I am absolutely thrilled that you are giving Nutmeg a chance of a happy life. Litttle by little is the best way. She will get more confident as time goes by. All she needed was a loving family to see her through her fears. Any time you need a piccie posting just email me.
We are all so happy for her and for you.
Jenny xx

Another lovely update on Nutmeg. She is doing so well, and a photo. ;D Hi Jenny Thank you for the email and I was very touched that you got in touch and members have asked about her. Nutmeg is absolutely everything and more we wished for. She is patient with the boys and equally as playful especially in the snow as she demolishes snowmen very quickly. She is a clumsy girl which makes us laugh and charges around at 110mph on our local common bringing dead rabbits and birds as presents for us - aren't we the lucky ones. We have come such a long way in the last 4 months and it feels like she has always been with us. I completed one to one dog training which was so helpful for me as I have never owned a dog and there is a lot to think of. The training i think was more for me than Nutmeg! Nutmeg took a while to settle especially with other dogs but now she is fabulous with them and plays so well with dogs of all sizes, even the little yappy ones which get on her nerves. Saying that - i am always vigilant when we are out as she can be unpredictable as all dogs can be. She has calmed so much outside of the house - i was worried that i would be a midnight walker for ever and i think i underestimated how long it would take for her settle - when i look back on the first 6-8 weeks they are not even comparable to the girl she is now - all that was needed was time, firm boundaries, consistency and lots of cuddles and love- it worked wonders. I have attached a recent photo of her sleeping with her tongue out! Thanks for taking the time to ask after Nutmeg - Best wishes Kendra

-Hi - just thought i would let you know that Nutmeg is on the move again this time to Dorset. We move home next week and nutmeg has been for a vsist and loved the beach - we are really close to beaches, woods and just miles of countryside so she can chase as many rabbits as she can. Any tips on resettling her would be really welcomed.

Wonderful! I was worried that she was going back into rescue when i started to read your post. She has come on so well with you and the children. Main thing is to settle her stuff first in a quiet room in the house. It would be good if she could be out of the way when the actual hustle and bustle was taking place. Please, keep in touch. And piccies in her new home, yes please. All the best to you all. xx

Hi - well after 4 months of mayhem and madness we are finally settling down to some routine. Nutty has had an interetsing time since the move, it took her quite some time to resettle , has some really odd behavours for a while, little freaked out by it all i think but we are finally getting there with her. Sadly the rabbits are a little slower in Dorset than in Herts and she almost managed a squirrel the other day! Now the holiday season is over we are looking forward to getting her on the beach again. She has managed to pick up Fox mange already which is just typical of her and us to be living in a mangy fox area - luckily we caught it really early so she hasnt been too itchy with it. Will try and pop a photo on - she has been on the ferry to isle of wight and lulworth castle and is quite the sightseeing tourist! Hope the photos will follow later.
Really sorry to read about the lovely Mikey - started crying - bless him. Kendra
