Poor little Abby is waiting to come in. Luckily for her a lovely lady is looking after her until we can take her. Abby was involved in a Road Traffic Accident and her ball joint was broken. She has had extensive surgery and needs a quiet foster home to re-couperate in. Unfortunately feeling safe now, the usual has happened. Abby has come into season. She is only a young girlie, so this could well be her first season as she is probably around a year old. It's a hard one to ask, but can any of you with bitches take in this little girlie?

Abby is a lovely girl - a real cuddle monster. Adores both men and women and just craves affection. She is great with other dogs - greeted both Nero and Bella with respect and a very waggy tail. She sleeps quietly all night in a crate in the lady's kitchen, and is being a model patient. She is about 24/25" tts (about Bella sized) and has just the softest coat ever.

Abby will be staying with Jackie in W. Sussex for now until after Christmas when we hope to move her, unless her new home is found by then. She really is a poppet. Jackie will be updating me shortly, but at the moment she is being a start patient, Patience with a capital P as well. She is with several of Jackie's own dogs and doing really well. She has had a post-op check-up and all is good. The Vet has intimated that there should be no arthritis in that joint as she matures. She is people and dog friendly. Not sure about cats, but small dog friendly too. Good to be left in her crate, and just a poppet. She has come under SLR's wing although not transferred over yet. x

She sounds lovely, wish she was a bit older. Any more update on this lovely girl? She sounds as though she may be quite steady and calm for a youngster??

Sorry Loz, things have been going on behind the scenes. A friend of Jackie who is fostering Abbey has recently lost one of her dogs and her other dog, a greyhound, has felt very lonely. They met and hit it off so Abbey is set to go today. xxx

Right dog, in the right place at the right time, to meet the right people. SLR magic has done it again.

Great result. Well done!
Edit - Tho I'm sorry to hear about the dog and the lonely dog it left behind. As happy a turn-around(s) as one could wish for.

Some sad news in from Carole who adopted Abby. She has been diagnosed with Crohns disease and has spent 5 days in the Vet Hospital. She is out now but on daily medication and they are taking one step at a time. So sad.
