Hello, dear uncle Barney and auntie Jenny,
Yesterday it was five weeks ago when my mummy and daddy collected me from Southern Lurcher Rescue to take me into my forever h o m e !
Mummy told me today would be a very special day for me because I was going to have some visitors coming to see me........... See m e???
Hmmmm.......she did not tell me WHO was coming to visit me, so here I am sitting in anticipation on my meadow wondering WHO would want to visit me........?
"While I am waiting for my visitors to arrive, I might just as well go and see my friend, the tree.........
perhaps he knows a bit more than me, who knows?.......... AT LEAST I CAN TRY!!
My friend the tree usually knows all about the news in my garden - but this time he could not help me, either. "You've just got to be patient, little prince Elmer," he said. "It won't be long anymore, just wait and see............"
Hmmm ....... I don't think I am the most patient little hound in the world - no, I don't think so.......... (sigh...)
........another lesson from my friend, the tree: "Little Elmer, all good things in life take a little while,
and you need to learn to pace yourself........"
But then, all of a sudden, I stopped in my tracks: I could hear some voices and I could hear some barking as well!!! Who could this be?
As fast as I could, I was running back across the meadow, back to the house where mummy welcomed my visitors and it was auntie Joy and her lovely hounds Bonnie and Sam from Hayling!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhh!!!
Here I am, following my new friend Bonnie who was called by her mum
And here..... chasing Bonnie girlie
Here is Sam, inspecting some rabbit holes........
And here I am together with my new friends in the wood, having a well deserved rest after some manic play time in the garden............. running............... chasing............digging............ how much fun we had all together - absolutely LOVED IT!!!
We all thought it would be a good idea to go back into the house and finish that lovely getting together auntie Joy and mum had arranged for us with a nice cup of tea and some bikkies for the hounds - what a brilliant idea!!!
We had all enjoyed ourselves so much and decided that we will see each other again, very soon.........
Thank you so much, auntie Joy, for coming over to visit me in my forever home and bringing with you your lovely hounds Bonnie and Sam, the "Hayling Hurricanes" - my new friends!!!
With love to you all,
from
Little prince Elmer
