Rory came into the Rescue as Derek, then named changed to Victor and was rehomed as Rory. Sadly it has not worked out with his new home. They have toddler children visiting and they do not feel that Victor is happy in that situation. Victor is a 9 year old very small whippet X who just wants to have a quiet life with his people. He wants to potter, and run, and do his own thing. He doesn't want anyone in his face, and he doesn't want dogs in his face. He are looking for a home where Victor is the be all and end all, and where there are no visiting young grandchildren. Where his owners are around, preferably retired and where Rory (who we all still think of as Victor ) can have a happy life sharing walks with them and just being giving some peace. He does have health issues. His eyesight is patchy, he has a grade 2-4 heart murmur depending on whether he is anxious at the vets, but that is not bad for his age. He will be sponsored by the Rescue for his heart and his eyesight and any arthritis issues until he is 12 years old, which is the natural progression of degeneration. Any Adopters will be asked to keep up routine health checks and fund his vaccinations and food and general care. We are being totally honest with Rory. We all love him to bits and just want the best possible home for him. Could you find a place in your heart and your home for this little man. Piccie overload on it's way. Some pictures of his early days with the Rescue, and some comments to follow from his previous fosters. I took Rory out of the holding kennels and had him for two nights with the Symmons pack, and if this little chap survived that, he is just so worth having.

I'm sure that lovely little oldie WILL find his forever sofa very soon with someone who has retired perhaps and wants nothing more than a quiet dog to enrich their lives in a quiet home, and that lovely little oldie would be very happy to spend the rest of his life with them. Wishing you the very best of luck, little chap. Viviane. X

Poor little Victor (I still think he's a Victor not a Rory). I do hope someone takes him soon, he is a lovely little chap. quite sprightly for his age too.

We were so saddened when we heard this news, Victor is such a lovely boy who just wants his home comforts and have some peace. He loves his fuss and cuddles and he would make anyone a wonderful companion. We loved him so much and we had to make the heartbreaking decision that our home wasnt the right home for Victor . It is sad that Victor has already had 3 homes in less than a year through no fault of his own I really hope that his right forever home is out there and he will be in it real soon

He is a very special little boy. I have a soft spot for Victor and know he will make somebody very very happy - just wait and see! Viviane. X

I'm so sorry to hear that poor old Victor is home-hunting again. He holds a special place in my heart as it was seeing him on Facebook (along with little Buzz/Watson) that led me to SLR in the first place. So thank you Victor! PS. Out of curiosity, is he cat friendly do you know?

PS. Out of curiosity, is he cat friendly do you know? No! He is not great with horses either! Even though he is an oldie he still has (or did - I may stand corrected) a strong prey drive.

Jenny will find you your perfect hound. I know. Just waiting for confirmation that my poorly old cat has responded to the meds. *crosses fingers* But pls don't besmirch ALL hamsters! I've had 6 over the years (Dwarf Russians, along with my Rabbits, Guinea Pigs & Rats) & one in particular, my precious Honey, was the PERFECT pet! Can't take them out with the Greyhound Walks gang though.

Rory is now safely in the hands of Sara and will be passing by the Symmons household tomorrow late afternoon to say hello before he goes to his new foster home with Sara in Essex.
