This little lass really is incredibly affectionate - here she is seeking some fuss from Uncle Keith this afternoon, when he was giving Shaun his attention:
Sorry about the picture quality, but the sun was shining directly into the living room - I certainly wasn't complaining though: long may it continue! ;D
Winnie is such a loving girl - surely her forever home can't be much longer in materialising?

You would not believe what she's been telling me about her temp dad guys.[CHINESE WHISPERS] going on with the hounds at the home kennel, # When it gets to the last person to have the word/phrase whispered to them, they have to say what they think was whispered to them. If it is correct, then you may do some kind of celebration to reflect the joy of getting it right. On the other hand, it may be the complete opposite, or it may have metamorphosised into something totally unrelated and somewhat baffling. PS SEE NO EVIL SHAUN. SPEAK NO EVIL WINNIE ;D

So sad this girl is still waiting for her forever home Perhaps an edit needed on the first post to omit the aggression bit, which she clearly isn't. I'd have her in a shot........................... Anyone want my OH?? ;D

So sad this girl is still waiting for her forever home Indeed it is Bernice - Winnie really is a delightful little lass, & I was seriously considering adopting her myself before Annie arrived.
I'm really pleased with the way she's bonded with me, but it saddens me that she hasn't as yet had the opportunity to do so with whoever eventually offers her a permanent home.
Nope - she did come to us with problems, but hopefully we've worked through them, as she now exhibits no aggressive tendencies.
In all conscience, though, we have to be 100% upfront & honest with folks regarding the characteristics, personality, behaviour, health issues & known history of each dog that comes under our wing, otherwise we would lose all credibility.
Someone out there is missing out on a great opportunity to be united with a lovely canine companion, but adoption offers for particular dogs are a bit like the No. 37 bus - you wait for one for ages, then a whole bunch arrive together.
I'm sure Winnie's time will come - fingers crossed for her sake that it's sooner rather than later.
Would you like us to ring round our contacts to see if they know of anyone looking for an example of that particular breed? ;D

Not housetrained either, obedience training could better too ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks Bernice, that's most kind of you - she really has responded extremely well, whilst still retaining her general Saluki traits, (e.g., 'yes of course I'll come back when you call, but at my convenience,' & 'look Uncle Barney, your newspaper's so much more interesting in loads of tiny pieces.' ), & to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way.

hi,
i know this isnt "the norm" but have you considered re-aprroaching the people who adopted her and working with them to build their trust in her ?

i know this isnt "the norm" but have you considered re-aprroaching the people who adopted her and working with them to build their trust in her ? They love her dearly Claire, & I'm in regular touch with them to update her progress, but I was talking to Jim Greenwood at All About Dogs today, & he agrees with me that it wouldn't be feasible, mainly because of their professional commitments.
Nor me - I call her 'Uncle Barney's Little Treasure.' I really wish it could be 'Daddy's Little Treasure' since she's so adorable, but my circumstances dictate that I really can't have four hounds of my own & continue to foster for SLR.
I know that the right home offer will materialise at some stage.

Hi, Weve looked at quite a few young ladies to join our two gentle boys but this little girl is awesome! Barney, We dont know how to contact you any other way than this, we are really interested in Winnie and have a space on the sofa with her name on it between our gentle boys. We have been homechecked by GALR and Patch, one of our boys previously came from Lin Dorey at GALR. Please email me at michelle.harrison43@virgin.net with your number and we can then contact you.

She is so beautiful and we have read through all the posts regarding Winnie and her intial problems, she's come on leaps and bounds, literally! We love that look of concern on her face when Bonnie first arrived.

Weve looked at quite a few young ladies to join our two gentle boys but this little girl is awesome! Yup - unsurprisingly she attracted a great deal of interest at the All About Dogs event over the weekend.
I've sent you an email as requested - look forward to hearing from you.
