Auntie Sandie is looking forward to Betty's visit, we have been telling Lady all weekend that she has a ickle puppy coming to stay and she'll have to share her bedroom snuggles. She's not bothered yet but my guess is she might be, but having someone to play with might just make up for it

Betty is back in Romsey after her little hols in Milton Keynes with Sandie and Lady .... they did a wonderful job looking after her and it is much appreciated. Next week she will be out and about in the fields with my lot so i will be armed with my camera to take piccies of her first adventures ..... And I swear she grew in 3 days

Betty’s Milton Keynes Mini Break Me and Steve had the pleasure of looking after Betty for Kate for 3 days. I thought I’d just give my opinion on the little girl to add to what Kate says about her. Betty is a happy little pup and seems very well adjusted. She settled in well with us. She was particularly fond of our Greyhound girl Lady and followed her around and wanted to lay with her. She tried to get as close as possible, Lady didn’t want her too close and told her so and Betty was very respectful of that, still tried but moved when Lady told her. That said when Lady took herself off upstairs out of her way Betty was happy playing with the toys and the chewy bones, and with us of course. She was affectionate with us but after a cuddle happy enough to take herself off to lay in Lady’s bed or on the other sofa. She didn’t try to chew anything that wasn’t ‘dog’ related she started to chew on Lady’s bed but on being told NO she stopped straight away. She’s only a pup and still learning about toileting outside, but she performed every time we put her in the garden. If she gets caught short indoors she tries to wee on the puppy mats. She did poo a couple of times before we knew she wanted one, but she did them by the back door. So this little one wants to be clean. Whilst she is very people orientated she bonded more with our Lady and wanted to cuddle up to her more than us, so I believe that she needs a home with another dog. We took her out each day on a short lead walk and like all pups new to the lead she didn’t like it much but by the 3rd day she was getting the hang of it more, again she took confidence in my dog and wanted to walk by her. She is a normal bouncy pup with sharp teeth and claws and as such I think it would not be a good idea to be homed with very young children, although if she’s homed with another dog and children are dog savvy that would not be a problem. Kate has obviously been teaching he well, because she is obedient in that when she’s jumping up for her food and you tell her no and sit, she does just what you tell her. As anyone can see she is a good looking girly and has wonderful markings, very soft fur and just a beauty. She is a good girl and wants to please and is going to make someone out there a very happy hound owner. I’ve taken a video on my phone of her playing and will try and work out how to post it. In the meantime here’s a few photo’s from her visit.

Thank you Sandie, what a lovely write up Would love to see her go to a home with another dog but i do understand that this is not always possible ... so if not she would enjoy a busy household with lots to do - she is great with children but if they are little then they would have to be very dog savvy and understanding. She is still jumpy and can overplay with her teeth, but obviously this will get less and less with more training and rules. She is a clever little girl and would benefit greatly from Training Sessions - she picks things up very quickly. SHE ADORES THE SOFA .... so make sure she has her own chair ;D ;D ;D ;D
