He is a little dinky isn't he? 'Victor' would cover the age and the grumbles nicely but also has a 'victorious' link :- new start etc. Only you, Rachel and Chris, can really gage what suits him and is a name you are happy with. Having had to walk through Southampton dry dockyard trying to relocate our Skippers dog named 'Randy' I am a little cautious on shoutable names!!!! (Needless to say I had some interesting?? offers) Any 'small but strong' names might suit. Look forward to meeting your new arrival, well done for taking him, hugs for Millie and Ginny too please.

Well done to everybody involved for getting little man ("Archie" maybe?) into Rachel's home safely. He is such a tiny little man and I bet he will be thoroughly spoilt whilst being with Rachel, and he soo deserves it! Thanks for first piccies, Rachel. I have noticed he has a little mark on top of his nose but am saddened to see his old injury on his back which would have needed stitches but was never attended to........... You are in loving hands now, little brave man! Viviane. X

What a little cutie. I agree with Sue - whatever you're happy shouting at him. I quite like Victor. Del could get confusing if you're out with me and my OH. You might get the wrong one following you home! Hope you have a good first night (and many more to follow) and will see you tomorrow. ;D

He certainly is a lttle 'Dinky' ;D A lovely chap but don't forget his legs are short so won't be able to walk as far as the girls ;D I had a quick look at the bald patch on his back and it doesn't appear to be a scar, just a bald patch So don't worry Vivienne

You are in loving hands now, little brave man! Viviane. X It's OK Viviane - it's not an old injury. Jenny explains in her first post that he has got a flea bite allergy and needs malaseb shampoo. That bald patch and nasty skin will soon be gone - I promise.

Yep,, it's a flea allergy. Anil celotaped along it and then looked under his microscope to see if there were any signs of fleas or mites, and nothing. So hopefully it has been dealt with and we can continue the treatment. Well Rachel can.

Oh this is lovely news, Donna and Mark, meaning at least he has come to no physical harm in the past. Enjoy your walk with little man tomorrow, Romi. And please don't forget your camera as we would love to see piccies, please! Viviane. X

Sorry should have put an explanation of the photo of his back !! He is adorable, I think we will be going with Victor ( i.e. Victor Meldrew/Victory). He has had a good night, not a problem at all. His bed dwarfs him though! After wees this morning he came on to the bed for cuddles. He really doesn't like Millie - he has a right grumble at her and she thinks he is playing so gets into bowing and barking at him - which means she gets more growling! Ginny (who I was the most worried about) has been brilliant and he doesn't grumble at her at all! We lufffs him already!! He is a real heart stealer! We are off to take Victor for a walk - passing my parents house Lol!! This afternoon we are meeting up with Romi and Sue so will get plenty of photos!

Well Victor had his bath and he was as good as gold, even though he had to stand in the bath 10 minutes before we could rinse of his shampoo! He has very itchy skin and will do a lovely little dance when you scratch his back!! The bath loosened some hairs and he has been mouting all over the place Have given him a good brush and got handfuls! Have started him on some Yumega Plus which I give the girls to help his skin as well. I didn't take him to MF to meet Sue and Romi with their packs as I felt it would be too much for him, Chris stayed at home with him and took him for a trundle around the estate. However last night we took him to the pub and he was as good as gold - he certainly perked up being given bits of Sue's pheasant and I managed to persuade Chris to give him a little of his beefburger (almost unheard of!). Victor took it all in his stride and I forgot to take a photo of him! He greeted everyone with a wag, this little boy is a real sweetie x

Great news - and he's small enough to sit in the corner of the pub and not get in the way!

I took Victor with the girls to the bunny fields, put a harness and extendi-lead on him, he wanted to play with the girls but there was no way I was letting him off!! Note for potential adopters: Victor is NOT horse friendly!! He was desperate to get at the horses and when one came a little too close to check him out he went to nip it!! He loved his walk around the fields, has had breakfast and is now sleeping Got to leave him for a while today but have parents coming in later to check on them and let them out. Going to pop him in the kitchen with the dog gate between him and the girls. He still has a good grumble at Millie but it is mainly when he is wanting to have a sleep and she gets a little too close! He is an adorable little man with a lion heart and a great character

Sounds like he's settling in well with you and Chris ;D Good on Ginny being so good with him, and poor queen Millie, I'm sure he'll give in to her womanly charms soon enough Which dog-friendly pub did you go to last night?

He sounds such a little character , I did meet him very briefly and he is so small but it just makes you want to cuddle him . I love the idea of him doing a little dance in the bath! He sounds like he is enjoying himself with you Rachel.

Believe me there is plenty of life in this old boy yet!! I had the most lovely greeting from him when I came home this afternoon, jumping up at me, wagging like mad. He is a real character - which has come out more and more over the last couple of days - looking forward to seeing more of it come out over the next days/weeks. I hope that someone somewhere will look beyond his age and potential health problems and give this little love a forever sofa.
