Thank you so much - but reserve admiration for the way Kings James and Henry have slotted in and made themselves at home.....feels like theyve been here months!!

I havent had much time to update on my oldies lately (altho Im a greedy photo poster on other threads!) so just thought Id put them fwd for a round of applause for the way have dealt with a houseful lately.
From 11 years as a 2some to this!! BUT - I think its helping them.....they have rediscovered their youth with all these kids around!
As youngsters, they were famous in the village for leaving the farm and exploring the surroundings - their previous vets receptioist said they used to turn up at the vets and have to be taken home!
Well today, a little of the old urges took over... After running around like loonies in the snow they (or should I say Jamie-James swiftly followed by his sidekick) decided to nip through a barbed wire fence (imagine my panic), down into a ditch and up again, disappeqaring into thick undergrowth in search of the origin of some enticing squawking. The very large field we were in (surrounded by other very large fields) was clearly not sufficient for Butch and Sundance. Several pheasants took to the sky in annoyance but no sign of the terrible two. Freezing cold, deep snow and dusk swiftly approaching. Ed shivering, Arthur wanting to go and find them, me blowing the whistle and walking off in a grump knowing theyd come when they chose. About 5 mins later they deigned to return, injury free...galloping up to us and getting a right telling off from Ed...he barked and barked at them...most amusing reaction! They had huge smiles on their faces Im sure (I hid mine)!
Blessums!!

I'd love to know what Ed was saying to them! Maybe 'Look you guys you really need to come back when mum wants you to 'cos she's the boss and she always has a reason for wanting us back with her ... it can be a big bad world out there ...'. James would be saying 'who you teaching to suck eggs young fellah'. And Henry ... 'yeh whatever Ed'. And as for Arthur ... 'Let's go home and see Sidney, c'mon, let's go'.

I am just updating on this thread. Sadly we were informed in June, by one of the members on the forum that Henry died in April. As SLR are fully backing the Vet bills for these dogs, direct to the Vets, we are continuing to back James. Sadly we have been informed by the Vets dealing with James that he has now had diarreah for over six weeks. We have given the authority to test and tackle the problem, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The Vets have also said that James now only weighs 22 kilos. We will keep you updated of any changes once we know them.
