Did you see my message on his transport run thread about his name Sara? I am so glad he is doing well it made me so happy when he started to wag his tail when he see's you are there for him . He did have small but more often feeds of burns and mince or chicken here so hopefully his tummy and smelly farts should be getting better soon ! I Slept loads this afternoon, the journeys must be catching up with me but it was sooo worth it for this little man. He loves a grooming session prob the bad skin, and the gentle touch must make it so wonderful for him . Loads of undercoat came out after his first bath so he must be even softer and fluffier now. Have a wonderful time with your new friends and foster family. Fantastic photos Sara.

Hi Christina - the name has stuck now, and we can't think of anything better. His new family will probably choose a new name for him, so no point confusing the little man! We haven't had any smelly farts today - so perhaps his tummy is settling down. He loves being groomed or stroked doesn't he? He almost goes in to a trance like state. Bless him. He is much more settled this evening. We are going to do away with the crate in our room at night and see if he settles on a dog bed. He is so calm I think he might - he wasn't keen on the crate although it was plenty large enough for him. All three of them are crashed out on the living room floor in this heat.

That's good to hear Christina - he only whimpered a little bit, we didn't have any crying, but I get the feeling he would be more comfy on a duvet or a dog bed.

Seeing the photos of Buddy after his bath, his colouring is so like Simba, but Simba has the smoother coat. It would be interesting to see them together! Glad he's settling in well, isn't it always amazing how soon they respnd to some TLC.....

Time for a Buddy update. He is perfect. He has been clean in the house since arriving here, so seems to have been house trained at some point - or has caught on very quickly. He's extremely easy going. Just fits in nicely, isn't pushy, but his personality is coming out little by little as the hours go by. He's much more waggy now, and is tucking in to his food really well. The first meal he had here he ate quite hesitantly. We took them to the secure field at Mistley this evening - the first time he has been off lead with us. He was perfect! He ran around sniffing with our two, but came back every time he was called. When we walked around the edge of the field with them, he stuck very close to Tony and I at times, and went off with Cleo and Max at others. He likes to be with people - and equally likes to be with dogs. I think he is so easy going that he could cope easily with being an only dog. Twice he initiated play with Max and Cleo - but didn't quite have the confidence to follow it through. He freezes a bit when Max bounds up to him. He holds his own though. Gyp let Max and Cleo bully him a bit, but Bud definitely stands his ground when he has had enough and lets them know game over. Nicely though - not a nasty bone in this boy's body. He travels brilliantly in the car - just lies down quietly and you would hardly know you have him in there! Someone snap this boy up very quickly please as he is worming his way in to our affections after just two days. PS Photos to follow - took them on my phone and have no idea how to upload them!!

Can't find the cable to upload phone photos but here are some of him yesterday evening on the sofa, and in the garden today. He is slowly coming out of his shell. Today when Tony got the collars and leads to take them for a walk he started playing with the lead. Bless!! He doesn't often look excited, but we had cold chicken for lunch and he was desperate to get some of it!! Buddy starting to relax on the sofa .... Buddy in the garden today (excuse my toes!) ........ Coming out to find us ......... Hot boy - he finally went to lie in the shade! And about an hour ago after a nap on his bed he started to lie on his back to roach! I can't wait for him to roach as I think then they are really starting to relax and chill. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera to hand. Can't wait to see this boy's personality emerge more and more - he is simply gorgeous.

Buddy has a vacant stare quite a lot, but he is getting better. He has moments when he is very animated, and then goes very quiet again, particularly when he is standing next to you for a lean or a stroke (he is a leaner - gorgeous, but not in this hot weather!!) I think a few weeks of being here he will seem like a different dog. It makes me feel so sad when I think what he must have been through in the past - wish I knew his story.

All I know about his past is that he was picked up the dog warden and not reclaimed. As for his future - well, that's looking good!!

That's good to know Kate!! Max is very capable of letting us know what he wants now and I wouldn't describe him as vacant!! Buddy loves cuddles. He's been lying between us on the sofa this evening for the first time, and isn't worried about contact with people. But most of the time he just has such an apologetic look on his face all the time as if he is so worried that he might be doing the wrong thing! He had pilchards with his food tonight - and absolutely loved them!!

We all had a fantastic night's sleep last night in the same room!! It was cooler, and I decided to put out 5 dog beds so they could choose. I encouraged Buddy to lie on a bed the other side of the room to our dogs, near the fan, and near my side of the bed. He settled down, but as soon as the lights went out he came and stood right next to me. No panting though. I stroked him, and after a minute or two he settled down right next to my bed. When Max woke us up for a wee about 5am, we saw Buddy was in one of the other dog beds next to Cleo. Buddy and Max went out for a wee (Cleo doesn't get up any earlier than 7am! LOL!) and then they both came back and settled down again until 7.15am. This morning he has left some of his breakfast, so he is clearly less food obsessed and hungry after several days of good feeding.

So glad you got some good sleep last night Sara Buddy is SUCH a handsome boy with such a stunningly sad look about him. As others have said, a few weeks in a safe place with lots of love and good food and he will transform You and your pack are doing a brilliant job! Audrey x

Lovely update Sara, so lovely he is starting to settle and obviously is feeling more and more secure with you as the days go on. He sure does sound like he is going to be a heartdog .

What a gorgeous boy he is - I don't think he'll take long to find his for ever home now.
