Boris was a little sick last evening then he settled well with no disturbance all night. Got up this morning and he seemed fine, had a short walk and then kept telling me he wanted breakfast. Since then he's found it hard to settle and keeps crying. He's a small delicate little boy and I think he's feeling it from yesterday. He had tried to check the wound out twice so for now I have put the buster collar on him. Meant to say yesterday, vet says he weighs 15.3kg which I reckon is perfect. He really is in great condition. Some photos from yesterday: I just don't feel well: A rather like Boris last night trying to walk and sleep at same time!: . . . . and today with the buster collar on, it's rather big on him and he's made no attempt to remove it!: Any idea on how I can help this lad through his pain would be appreciated please - been stroking and massaging him but still the little whimpers come. sue x

Poor little Boris I have no tips on how to help with his pain, but hopefully by the time you read this he will feel much better. At 15Kg he is certainly a smaller boy than Blue, although I reckon Blue is still losing weight. Give Boris a hug from me, and kisses from Holly and Blue!

Thanks Marcia, I reckon Blue was about same height! So maybe a weight to aim for in the distant future I let him on sofa with me (I know, I don't do dogs on sofas ) but he's recovering and I am a softie!! He had a long sleep. Have taken buster collar off for awhile but will watch him like a hawk to check he leaves those stitches alone. xx

I'm glad he had a good long sleep though. That will do him the world of good. Blue is horrified to hear you suggest he get down to 15Kg ;D But we will certainly aim in that direction. Hope you have a good night with Boris. He does look like such a sweetie!

Well after my worries yesterday, late afternoon/early evening this stunner decided to "wake" up and play! He was very bouncy last night, instigating play fights with the others which had to be stopped as we don't want him splitting his stitches, but he did manage a couple of circuits round our oval flower bed before I could stop him Boris is a vocal dog, I don't mean barking, but he sort of talks to you. I was coming downstairs this morning and he was at the bottom making these lovely sounds which were clearly to say he was pleased to see me. Earlier I went to end of garden to get something from shed and left all 3 dogs on patio (behind gate). Boris wanted to go with me, he made that quiet clear, making whining noises until I got back. Boris loves his food and today decided to help himself to a bit of Robbie's too, no harm done, Robbie let him! He will sit and wait for you to tell him it's ok to start eating. He's also quite good at allowing you through doorways first, so a well mannered boy most of the times. We also make him wait to go through door for walks and he's so good, sitting until told it's OK to come out. Boris has a sore between his toes on front left leg and has cream from vet which is applied twice a day. This seems to be helping already and it looks to be healing fine. Where he was neutered is also looking OK. We are still to test Boris with cats and children, going to take him to PAH later for some charcoal bonios so hopefully there will be some stunt kids around. Boris likes to jump up to greet you and gives cuddles - we are dissuading the jumping up as we get young children and frail oldies come here and we don't want them knocked over!! We popped out for two hours last evening and he was fine with our two. No anxiety, but I suspect there may be if he was an only dog. This boy loves to know where his hooman is 24/7. Vet visit tomorrow morning to check stitches, will take advantage of this to go into Witham and walk him round town to see how he is in crowds - think he will be fine though.

So glad he has perked up. It is quit amazing how quickly they (dogs & Bitches) get over having their 'bits 'removed.

Been to vet this morning and his neutering and his toe wound are fine. Stitches will be taken out next Monday. Crystalgirl (Wyn) has kindly agreed to take him whilst I am away. He met dogs and a duck at the vets, was behaved for all greetings with dogs, a bit bemused by the duck. Was well behaved at PAH yesterday, calm with children and adults, not interested in anything in the shop (you can tell he's not a lurcher!!) - even refused a treat there. Humping has stopped now. He's now just meeting and greeting my two (and other dogs) with the usual sniffs and licks that they all do. Boris shows no lead aggression at all, a relief as my two are very choosy! He's still trying to instigate play sessions with Missy but they are being curtailed until stitches are out. OMG - moulting - two dogs is bad enough, 3 is silly, I can't keep up with the hoovering!! How those of you with large packs cope I just don't know! The little angels ( ) are all having a snooze - time for me to do some housework. Sue x

Pleased to hear that the lad's on the up.
I can't keep up with the hoovering!! How those of you with large packs cope I just don't know! In this home-kennel, a good brushing after every walk helps to keep the hoover from clogging up. Happily, all the hounds enjoy it.

Barney x I brush them, but the more I brush the more that comes out, it never stops and if I carried on I would make them sore!! Missy has that thick "double" fur, Robbie is a broken coat and currently he's the worse! Thank doG I got a Miele Cat & Hoover last year! Little Boris has a short coat, being mostly white you can see his skin under it quite clearly, can't work out with so little hair how he manages to moult at all

Tis I!!!!! I have F A I L E D, and Jenny has kindly allowed me to do so I was a useless fosterer anyway, wanted to keep them all, cried when they left!! This little lad has made it so very clear that this is his home and who am I to say no, Russ took a little bit longer to fall for him as he's not here all day watching him like me! Boris is a real character and you just can't help to fall for him. So, the third dog isn't the small grey scruffy I thought I always wanted, he's a white short haired cheeky whippet Last night we went to PAH to get a larger plastic bed and a cushion for him. We set it up, a duvet in base, cushion on top, just like the other two. Boris spent ages getting the new cushion out of the bed and the took it to the sun room where upon he tried to kill it! We swopped cushions with the one in Missy's bed in the end and he was OK with that - clearly likes his beds a bit "lived in"!!! Boris gets on OK with my two, well most of the time, sometimes Missy can be a right ol' grump but she also plays with him so it's just her reminding him who is boss. He licks Robbie's ears all the time and Robbie even sniffs at his mouth and face, something he never does with Missy. Sue xx
