We spent another weekend with the lovely little pocket rocket, Reggie I am in love with this little fella. Reggie is very affectionate and loves his cuddles, he walked lovely on the lead today and seems to love the company of us two leggers more than the four leggers. We couldn't believe how quick his fur is growing back He must feel so safe and loved with the Karla & Mark

I'm not really surprised Reggie is just the most lovable, affectionate little darling you could ever wish to meet He's healing beautifully from his op and on the whole is leaving the stitches alone like a good boy. He's back to the vets on 14th June for them to be taken out. We've had a wonderful weekend in the company of lots of gorgeous hounds & lovely people and nothing has fazed little Reginald ;D People are his first love most definitely and he loves being made a fuss of and being really close to you. If you don't let your dogs on the sofa or bed then Reggie really isn't the one for you as he needs the comfort of his hoomans around him. He'll happily snuggle down in his bed if asked to and as he feels more secure with us he's happy to sleep through the night on his bed next to ours rather than on top of Mark now But, in preference he's happier with you or next to you He's still a total foodie and if there is a sniff of a treat he's like a little zebedee bouncing up and down in front of you until he gets something. We've been working on his manners with this and he's only getting food if he sits patiently first, however this is definitely a work in progress and will need his new owners to continue this. He's fine to be given food with other dogs if you are hand feeding them - ie with treats or licking our plates - although he does try to take theirs from them if given half a chance, so if you already have a food possessive dog then Reg probably wouldn't be a good addition The only thing is he's quite possessive of his bowl if another dog comes near when he's eating so we're still feeding him separately at the moment to avoid any issues. He's fine with people though and I can put my hand in his bowl or take the bowl away without any problems at all. I'm sure it's just a guarding instinct that's kicked in from not having regular food for a while and with a bit more time I'm sure we'll crack it He's slowly learning how to play with other dogs now and him and Dexter love to run from the back bedroom bed into our bedroom at the front and onto our bed and back again as quickly and as loudly as possible.... I must point out though that all the noise comes from Dexter we haven't heard so much as a peep out of Reg - I don't think he's even got a bark He does have the loudest yawn ever though, seriously squeaky and loud which is unbelievably cute We spent yesterday with Gilly & Jim and their gang and other than a failed attempt to hump Bodhi from Reggie everything was peaceful and pleasant and all the dogs seemed to have a great day. I do have lots of pictures of both Reggie & Jester (Gilly & Jim's SLR foster dog) but I need to get round to uploading them to photobucket - I promise I'll try to do that tonight

what a wonderful update Karla and Mark, well done, all your hard work is paying off and it sounds like Reggie is going from strength to strength, so pleased his hair is growing back, and he is healing well after his op, from the sounds of it he has the most wonderful, lovely personality too, the best things come in small packages! ;D Reggie sounds great

Well Kate does love my Shylo Keith so if Miss Elly grows up to look like her I'm sure she'll be happy ;D Little Reginald is doing great ;D His op is healing well and the bruising has almost gone and he's being a very good boy and leaving his stitches well alone. Jenny very kindly gave me a bag of hi-energy burns for him but unfortunately it went straight through him and gave him a terrible upset tummy so we've changed him back to the burgess that he was on and he's doing fine again thankfully. He's slowing down a bit with his eating now which is good and he's beginning to get the idea that until he sits down nicely he won't get any food He still thinks it's his right to try & steal everyone else's treat though but thankfully none of my guys have an issue with this and are very patient with him. A quick 'ah ah' stops him in his tracks most times so with a bit more time we'll teach him how to share This little fella's tail never... and I mean NEVER stops wagging ;D when he sits down it still wags and it almost propels him across the floor it's so cute We let him off lead with the boys last night and he was as good as gold. He's not too interested in playing chasing games with them and he does a very good dodge when they come zooming over to him. There is a lovely old lady that we often meet up with on the fields that has a very old schnauzer cross, about 4 months ago she adopted a lurcher x from the local RSPCA who is just so sweet and completely crackers called Amber. She gets very excited when she sees our guys as she loves running with them. Last night I turned round to see Amber running beautifully with a lovely little whippet cross and said to Mark "oh look she must have got a play friend for Amber to run with, that looks like a lovely dog" Mark just looked at me like I was off my rocker "what" says I..... "That's Reggie you PLANK" says Mark.... He was having a fabulous time with her happily skipping about.... me thinks Reggie likes the ladies My boys are probably just too rough with him so he avoids playing with them but with Amber he was having a blast ;D I think it would be lovely if Reggie went to a home with just the one lady friend to keep him company. As he's so people orientated I don't think he'd be happiest in a pack of dogs but he'd certainly love a female friend. I heard the little monkey bark for the first time last night too it wasn't for very long and it was only when someone came to the door and probably as the others were barking anyway he thought he'd join in. He really is a fantastic little dog.... please someone inquire about him soon as we are so so tempted to fail

Hi Karla, I filled out the application form and sent it off to Jenny as you suggested, so am just waiting to hear back from her. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't decide to keep Reggie yourself! Donna
