Thanks for the update Jenny and well done Meggie!! I really understand the need to come to terms with letting a foster dog go - it can be a real wrench but always for the best. You have done a great thing Elaine.

Sorry, was hoping that Elaine would post first. Meggie left for her new home this afternoon. All so sudden that Elaine has had to come to terms with handing over a perfect little girlie. Fantastic for Meggie - but I do feel for you Elaine - I guess this is something we will all have to come to terms with here when Gyp moves on. Just remember what a fantastic opportunity you gave her.

Sorry this is a little late but I was in 'sad' mode yesterday and forgot that everyone would be waiting to hear the good news around Meggie.
Joyce and Geoff Heydon arrive at lunch time yesterday with Storm their playful collie. We kept all dogs on leads initially and walked them round the paddock. When the leads came off there was a little bit of sniffing and one or two little growls from Meggie, which Storm tended to ignore, which was the best reaction we could have hoped for.
Joyce and Geoff stayed for a couple of hours and Meggie was very at ease, giving them kisses and she was quite comfortable with everything. The more we spoke to J and G the more I could see they were 'real' doggy people and knew this was the right home for Meggie.
J and G are lovely people who are very experienced dog owners but have only known lurchers since Christmas when they adopted one. Very sadly he died only last weekend due tumours on his spine, but they were captivated by him and knew they wanted to replace him as quickly as possible with another lurcher.
Meggie is the perfect lurcher for them and I know Meggie has gone to the best home possible for her and J and G will love her and look after her without fail.
They are hoping to come to the SLR fun day in June, when it will be lovely for us to see Meggie again.
Well done and thank you to Jenny for find this lovely home for Meggie.
