She is so beautiful, what a lovely face and I am sure with all the love and care she will receive from Donna and Mark she will come on in no time. I am a bit slow on the uptake but I can't seem to see how she came to be rescued and where she was found etc. This may just be my limited knowledge finding my way around the site!!! Shame Gracie can't wait to meet little flookie and cuddle up

Her 'working title' is Kasa Kate. It's a Hopi indian word that means 'dressed in furs'. Suz - She was left behind when Abi and her OH caught Hare Coursers on their farm Kasa refused to get into the van when they scarpered (at least we know she's got brains) and Abi took her in and has cared for her for over 3 weeks but Kasa is so scared of everything and Abi's job and lifestyle means that she couldn't give Kasa the consistent input that she needs. Gracie will love her: she is so delicate and genteel. We had a good day with her yesterday and she is showing lots of good progress. She is very frightened of men but she took food from Mark's hand last night She met the Shelties and showed signs of wanting to play with them. Even better, the Shelties showed signs of playing back and they have never done that before with a foster dog. She ate several small meals and got more confident about eating as the day went on and even wagged her tail for supper last night. And this morning she came up and sniffed me while I was making coffee and she's stayed next to me while I'm typing. ;D So lot's of positive signs. We'll be taking her to see Aunty Alyson tomorrow for her first Vax and a check-up but I suspect she's too underweight for any ops yet

You read my mind Kate - I was busily uploading to botophucket We're encouraging her to do lots of this at the moment Look at that lovely loooooong pointy nose. Judy's being her usual princessie self but she is actually allowing Kasa to come this close And here she is doing her best womble impression Excuse the 'sleep' in her eyes: I'm going to ask Alyson to check them tomorrow Weather permitting, we'll be off for an 'amble' round the kitchen garden later so I might even get an action shot or two. So far we haven't seen a bad bone in her body. Judy took a bone from her this morning and all Kasa did was put her head on Judy's leg and watched Judy chew on it

What lovely people you all are to give this little girl a chance. I hate to think what made her scared to get in the van and what might have happened to her in the past to make her so scared. She is now in the perfect place to regain her trust. Well done all.

She is so beautiful, poor little mite, how will you ever part with her after all the transforming work you will be doing. I can see lots of tears. I think all fosterers are amazing. How can anyone hurt these beautiful doglets. It makes me feel so MAD. I also feel so proud to be a member of such a lovely rescue. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to meet Kasa. X

What a really sad story, we have all read it and had broken hearts for her. Equally so happy we know she is now in great hands. Sure the MaD house will work wonders as always and maybe this is the flookie for your future, we really hope so for you. Saffie sends her love. If for any reason Kasa needs to move on, i am sure we can help continue your work and give Saffie a furry friend in our house, now she has settled in. We have learnt a lot on how to develop shy puppies Saffie can pass on her experience. Very best wishes, shout if we can help. Rgds The Chard Crew A reminder of Saffie, our SLR flookie that the MaD team helped to recovery

Blimey you were quick to catch us in a weak moment The girls noticed Kasa and we were all in love with the young pupster. I wanted to wish the MaD's well, we felt a loving link to them after Saffie - you know the score. Beyond that who knows . . . .

Okay, weekend update for Flookie fans; She has been to the vets and has been given a clean bill of health, first vax and a microchip They did think that she may be a bit older, somewhere around 18 months. Weight is 16.5 Kilo, so we have a little way to go to reach an ideal of 23 kilos but she is eating well now so hopefully won't take to long. (I suspect that the combination of 'the' Saluki gene and her fears are going to make it a little harder to get the weight on ) I think that we are making some headway with her fears as she is showing signs of getting more confident by the day and I actually managed to have a bit of a cuddle with her today which is fantastic I do however think that it is going to be a bit of a climb for her, so may take a little while. Kasa is much more confident with Judy and follows her around like a lost lamb and pretty much 'copy's' anything that Judy does so we have synchronized peeing, eating and sleeping ;D I guess time will tell, but its all looking very promising...................... Now the pic fest ;D Sadly, this is her normal pose, but that is going to change Lookin' Foxy She moves beautifully I guess that its no surprise that at the moment she doesn't want to run much and is much happier catching up on some much needed rest ............watch this space............ We will try to get to some of the events through the year, with the furry lady of the crew of course. Maybe some walks as well, Mrs Chard Crew has MS so long walks are not always easy, but we will do our best to get to see you all through the year. Great photo's and terrfific to hear she is already starting to relax a little. Cheers The Chard Crew
