Maisie came to us last weekend after her owner had to decide to part his terrier and Maisie. The terrier bitch had been attacking Maisie on and off during her 13 months with them and the last attack was terrifying for all the family. Maisie is now very weary of bitches. She is a lovely little whippet beddie x and has the softest of coats. Nina who is fostering Maisie in Aylesbury will update you all on her lovable character, but has said that she is being an absolute poppet. Willingly goes in her crate at night and is getting on so well with her foster family. Nina has a very calm laid back older bitch Cally and Finlay, her lurcher. And she is being thoroughly spoilt ;D We want a home for Maisie either as an only dog or with a calm laid back dog, not bitches please. She craves some love and will do anything for a cuddle. Although she has lived outside for most of the 15 months of her life she is clean indoors and a very well behaved girlie. No more living outside either please. And someone who can be around most of the day, so part-time workers please. Maisie is 15 months old, 20 inches to the shoulder and at the moment is in full season so will be with Nina for at least another week. She weighs 13.8 kilos. So a petite poppet. She is fully vaccinated and microchipped to SLR. All potential adopters will be homechecked. Please please don't apply if you have a bitch. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. She is just gorgeous. All enquiries to either Barney or Jenny.

I met little Maisie when I took a doge cage to Nina's she is an absolute poppet. Could have smuggled her home with me, but as I already have a bitch it would have been a no go. She will make someone a lovely little pet or companion as it says she loves lots of cuddles. She is not an outside dog, she just loves people and company. Good luck little one.

i am foster mum to maisie, and as you can see from the photos, she is adorable, but has such a lovely nature. she will need somebody who is prepared to make a lot of fuss over her, as she is forever nudging my hand to stroke her.
she loves people, and other dogs, and has spent hours playing in the garden with my other dogs, but inside she will follow me everywhere, and if i am not there, she is equally happy to follow my husband around and be fussed over by him.
so far she has been hardly barked either, which is a pleasant change from my 2 that don,t hesitate to let me know when anyone dares to walk past our house. :: maisie is going to make somebody really happy with her sunny nature, and the perfect companion for her new owners and another dog.

just to update on the above post, i have just come back from a nice walk with maisie, and she is a delight to take out. doesn't bark at other dogs while out, and took no notice of the ducks, sat by the lake. only a very slight pull on the lead now and again, but really nothing. - my own dog is a real puller without his halti, so i found maisie a real treat to walk. Can't see her ever needing a halti! everyone we met adored her. also at home we have 3 cockatiels in a large floor standing cage about 5foot high. maisie has looked at them, but never taken any notice of them, and not attempted to jump up at the cage, my daughter also has 3 degus, and again maisie has not taken any notice of these either. such a placid little girl, who everyone falls in love with nina

Maisie has had 14 applications for her. We really must stress that only applicants who can genuinely be at HOME for most of the day with Maisie, and who do not have dominant dogs should apply. So far two of the applicants are being followed through, so I am sorry if you haven't heard from us yet and have applied. I must stress that lurchers of any sort should not be left in cars/horse boxes of any kind. And probably being able to take a dog to work would depend on the dog, so we can't consider these type of offers of homes. When we ask for someone to be around most of the day, it does mean that, most of the day. Probably the best set-up is one where there are two partners, one working and one not, one laid back other dog, or none at all, NO cats and absolutely no working homes. Pet home only please. If you can meet these criteria, and can give the love and attention that Maisie deserves then you will be the home for Maisie. Sorry to put it so blunt folks, but this is our criteria, non negotiable. All prospective homes will have a homecheck. Many thanks.

Nice to hear the good news about Little Maisie, lets hope its her forever home. I know Nina will miss her I think she has been a much loved and fussed over little foster dog from what I could see of her when I went to visit, but it will good for her to find a permanent home. Maisie is lovely and I am sure she will make some lucky family very happy.

O Jenny what a lovely girl Maisie is, I do hope she finds a
wonderful home as I am sure you will do for her.
She looks like she is staying in a 5 star home anyway, waiting
for adoption. I will watch this space to see what happens.
Lots of love Carole & Black Jack. xxxx

and i am going to be a heartbroken fosterer when she leaves. ans so is her foster daddy, it would have been so easy to keep little maisie, and i know, like now, i am going to be in tears when she goes, but hopefully we have made the right decision for maisie, if not, i will have her back in an instant, and not let her go again. i am sure her new mum and dad, will love her as much as we have over these past few weeks.. love you forever maisie xxxxxxxx

Maisie left yesterday afternoon for her new home it was so hard letting her go, but i am sure we have done the right thing for Maisie and her new family, who are going to give her so much love and attention Maisie is just so adorable and she left with a couple of fluffy toys that i got for her and a ball, and chew and some food to last her a couple of days or so, which is far more than when she arrived here with us, which was a collar and lead. she also stole from us, a part of our hearts as she left : i have cryed buckets over you maise!!!!!!' Being positive today, there will be another foster out there who needs our help and love. Be happy Maisie, you are the most adorable and loving dog ever, and we will never forget you your loving foster mum and dad xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx will post a few more piccies of her just before she left as soon as poss.

The first one is the hardest Nina and the feeling in your heart when they go never ever gets any easier. Maisie has had the best start to her new life, and lots of fun and socializing. You have done a brilliant job and you should be so proud of yourself, and Pete too, I know how much he had fallen in love with her. And yes, there will be another little waif coming along real soon.

Nina, I live just a couple of miles from Maisie's new family; as you know they are lovely, dog savy people. But I am really hoping to see Maisie soon & perhaps let her have a romp with Rory, who loves a game of -chase! Sure there will be lots of piccies. You should feel a great sense of satisfaction and pride, that you gave her the space, the time and the love to recover and rest while she waited for her forever people. You fosterers are a blessing THANKYOU x

Good luck in your new home lovely lass.
Thank you Nina & family for caring for Maisie so well - fosterers like you are worth their weight in gold!
'Tis terrible having to part with fosters that you grow to love as your own, but regrettably there are so many needy hounds out there crying out for the sort of love & attention that you've lavished on Maisie.
I'm sure that Mummy Chook will soon be knocking at your door with a request to nurture another wee mite seeking a new start in life, & you'll fall in love all over again, go through the mill all over again at parting with them, & so on, ad infinitum - trust me, I'm a member of that Club!

thanks Barney, you are right of course, i,m just a softy and i don,t suppose it gets any easier, i suppose my overall worry is that having bonded with us, she will think we have also abandoned her, even though we know that we have done the best thing for both maisie and her new family. having said all that, i bet she is lapping up all the attention her new family are giving her, and hasn't given us a second thought. all my worrying for nothing xx

That is the most rewarding part about it all, when they greet you like a long lost friend, and they DO.... ;D She will... ;D
