We had taken Cai's details with us when we did our "Meet and Greet" at P@H Havant today. And one lady took a particular interest in Cai. We gave her all the details we had available so SLR might get an application for him in. Viviane. X

Hello everyone, Cai here. Alas, after many efforts to find me a home, including being in the newspaper, I am still waiting Although I like it here at my foster home, I have been with the recue since May, and I would really like a new home now. I love my cuddles, and as Rowan has had the day off today I took the chance to snuggle up on the sofa with her. My foster family say I am a good boy, and the most lovable hound you'll ever meet. I'm still young, and can be a bit cheeky, but that just adds to my charm in my opinion I get on great with my foster brothers, Fionn and Tipton, especially Fionn, and we have so much fun playing together out on walks. Talking about walks, I LOVE being off lead. I have good recall and enjoy playing my my doggy mates, including labradors, rottweilers, boxers, beagles, terriers...I could go on. If I get a good couple of runs a day to burn off energy, I am content to just sleep all day. My ideal doggy companion would be a calm lady who'll keep me in line if I get silly, or a young, playful (male or female) dog who is laid back. I am housetrained, and although I got very upset when I was left alone at first, I can now be left for about 3 hours. I do like to steal food, but what lurcher doesn't? So my foster family put all food away now so I can't get to it. On Saturday, I went on a trip to town with my "I need a home coat on". I got lots of attention, and although it was a bit overwhelming with all the sights, sounds and smells, I was very well behaved. The man on the petfood stall even gave me lots of free treats! So it was well worth it It's almost Christmas now, and if I could have one wish, it would be a family to call my own. Could you be my Christmas Angel? Love and doggy kisses, Cai xxxxxxx (pictures to follow)

Time for a quick update I think. Cai's been with us over Xmas, and he's better behaved than I could have ever imagined! We go a bit mad with decorations in our house, but he hasn't touched a single thing. He's left the tree alone, and all the hanging decorations. He didn't touch the presents under the tree, and he hasn't taken any food, not even the turkey! All he did on Christmas day (apart from go out on his walks) was sleep on the sofa whilst we opened our presents, ate food and watched films. He loved all the cuddles he got, and the special Christmas treats. Even as I type, he's fast asleep on top of everyone on the sofa, bless him. Pictures to follow soon.

How could anyone not love him. If he had come here he would have stayed, all naughty boys do and they then become soooo lovely.

It really is getting quite hard to believe he has not found his forever home yet. If people would only realise that Rowan and her family have done such a lovely job with him and could see they are getting an almost ideal pet........ Viviane. X

Haha, thank you, they were an present, so I thought I'd wear them Today we had a family gathering round here. There were about 20 people here, ranging from about 12 to 85 years old, so lots of different people. Cai was a star, and greeted everybody brilliantly. He was a bit shy, but didn't say no to all the strokes and cuddles. There was also a LOT of food around and he didn't touch it, which was great. Then I took the dogs for an afternoon walk, and we met a beautiful little female whippet (an Aalto lookalike). Fionn and Cai had a blast with her, and they raced around for ages. She was very fast and managed to out run them, but they had a great time, and were all very well behaved. She was very small compared to Cai but he was a gentleman and was very gentle with her. They seemed glad of a dog who could keep up with them! So I was very impressed with him, he was perfect
