Hi lovely lurcher peeps Well Munch now has a friend staying, he's an SLR foster that we're hoping to fail completely with ;D His name's Dozer & he is fabulous Thanks so much to Nikki & family who've been fostering him Hope your home isn't feeling so empty for too long lovely ones We had an amazingly good first night together, shame my neighbours kept us awake 'til almost 2am Went for a walk up at the country park this morning & they had a wonderful time together, even ignoring all the rabbits that for some reason were out in force!? Know it's very early days but they do seem like "brothers from different mothers" as they say, wonderful ;D ;D ;D Promise to get some pics when i can see properly again (totalled after yesterday as took over 5 hours to travel to meet Dozer, only 100 miles, zzzzzz! No idea how my lovely friend who drove us there & back did it, she is indeed a star!) Woofs, yips & snores from Munch & Dozer (& me!) xxx

All's still going very well & a fostering failure's hopefully guaranteed They're still trying to establish who's the most submissive - daft to say dominant as neither of them are. Dozer has this odd habit of going to stand over Munch but it doesn't appear to have any point, he is such a sweet & gentle soul. He's doing well on our walks & his recall, although not as good as Munch's (how could it be? Only joking, am a bit biased?!) is improving & i've only had to go collect him twice. He's always in sight though, just wants to go & say hello to everybody - guess i've 2 tarts for hounds now then? They seem to keep each other happily shattered.... Having to rely on mobile for now as all camera's batteries (including the rechargeable ones) have died, so please excuse the quality.... Couple of vids from an early a.m play in the garden... These 2 clips are from the Country Park, the 5 second 2nd clip being a prime example as to why am not getting too many pics, as each time i go to take a pic/video, another dog or person appears on the horizon. Training & keeping an eagle eye on them both being the main priority for now... And these are from the beach down at Pett Level yesterday morning - was an extra low tide at 8am, more likely to have a quiet beach this time of year.... Sorry so shaky & distant, but sadly no zoom on mobile & you know how well lurchers utilise their available space? :-) Biggest woofs, yips & thanks to all at SLR, especially to the lovely Jenny & Nikki & the Hampshire massive ;D ;D Mair, Munch & Dozer xxx

Well our 2nd fostering foray has failed dismally.... HOORAY!!! ;D ;D ;D Dozer continues to be an absolute star & he & Munch are getting on great. They've still not established any clear sub/dom roles, as they both appear to be as daft as each other?! Poor chap's ego's been bruised a bit though as Munch is quicker & has oodles more stamina (wish i could bottle it! ) so he now lopes along with me for 3/4 of our daily yompings, only joining in with Munch's mad hooning about a 1/4 of the time. Munch seems to be in 7th heaven having another hound around to join her on bounds again & although a little sad that himself won't always play with her all of the time, seems content to doze for a while if she really has to She was 3 years old on the 1st & Dozer was 4 on the 7th, bless my 2 Virgo hounds! Here's a vid of the 2 of them enjoying an enormous pig's ear each! As you can see Dozer's learning the etiquette of tiny 1-bed flat living & eating treats on a towel instead of in/on his bed or even worse on the carpet! ;D Hoping to have Dozer's adoption papers & contribution sorted out this week, so then it'll all be official. Thanks loads SLR & Jenny for helping these lovely lurchers find their forever home!!!!! Biggest woofs & yips of thanks from the Hastings hounds xxx

Hope y'all been enjoying this last breath of summer lovely lurcher lads & lasses? Thought you might like to see mobile phone vid of the hounds up at one of Munch's favourite places on the hills called Barn Pond. Was amazing up there the other morning as the air was literally full of swallows & martins, guessing they were taking advantage of their last chance of sustenance before flying south for the winter. A quiet, magical, balmy early autumnal scene.......... enter the hounds!? Dozer's keeping up with/ahead of the gentle-but-mental whippetty one a lot better now but does get bored playing non-stop chase, so he tries to take time out to check-out his new environments, bless him... therefore Munch has started to go into stealth mode & hide from him until he passes nearby ;D An example of this from down on the beach earlier the same morning.... When they are both playing at full-tilt, she now also growls & barks as much (if not more!) than the loveable lump of lurcher lad that is the gentlemanly Dozer.... It's a bit unnerving for some people/dogs we've met on our travels but think they're both happy healthy exuberant hounds, just with a slightly hooligan bent? And of course when the people we meet on our perambulations actually know about lurchers, then they join in with the laughter ;D ;D ;D Woofs, yips & splashes Munch, Dozer & me xxx

;D Glad you got there. Brilliant photos and videos. Dozer is a very lucky boy to have found his way to you and to Munch. Are you anywhere near Sioux in Pembrokeshire? You know what my Geography is like, and Wales is not that big. Did you send me your new addy so I can amend your details. Don't forget now.... Take care.
