Fly was saved by her relinquishing owners from a life of working when she was six months old. They bought her off the man trying to work her. She was very thin and they felt so sorry for her. Fly is now 18 months old and they live on a nature reserve. Fly likes to chase and has got herself into trouble chasing deer. They feel they can't restrict Fly to a life of on-lead walks as she loves to run. She is beautiful. About 24 inches at the shoulder. At the moment she is staying for a day with Barney, but hopefully on meeting Spud will be fostered in Essex with Carole later today. Fly will be assessed for the next week before being offered for adoption. On the left in this one

mmm only 1 day at barneys ...... More's the pity Alicia - she's a super lass, very like my Annie in looks, but a tad chunkier, with a softer coat & much more of it.
Fly is displaying a lovely temperament, & is fraternising well with all my lot, Mickey & Riley, & they've given her the thumbs up.
I've taken her out on three separate walks, with different companions on every occasion, & her behaviour on lead was impeccable each time.
This is one lovely girl, & she wouldn't be going anywhere else if circumstances were different...........................................

No need to ask about the cat friendly status of this one! Probably a good job - my OH would love her!

No need to ask about the cat friendly status of this one! Probably a good job - my OH would love her! Yup - I'm afraid that she does possess the 'normal' Lurcher attitude towards felines Vicky, (no worse than any of my lot, but that's bad enough! ).
Fly slept with me on the settee last night, & hardly budged. She's been clean in the house, & once again as good as gold on her three loose-lead walks this morning. She is a countersurfer, but it's only been curiosity thus far - I'm too long in the tooth to leave owt tasty within reach!

She is stunning, and being such a good girl! I would love to offer her a foster home...with a look to adopt...but I presume we are just too far away . I hope you find a foster soon.

Sorry Chloe - I wish you were closer, but when we initially set up the rescue we had to decide the outer limits of the area we could effectively cover, & the decision was taken that a 200 mile radius of Harlow would be appropriate - anything beyond that would mean that we couldn't respond swiftly enough to emergency situations occurring with rehomed hounds.
Please do offer to foster for rescues nearer home - we're all in the same boat regarding lack of available foster accommodation for hounds in need, & regrettably there's no let-up in the numbers of dogs that your efforts could benefit.

Oh what a beautiful scruffy girl, im sure she wont be waiting long. There is, unsurprisingly, a fair bit of interest in the lass - I'm obviously not the only person in the world who adores scruffies! ;D
Fly will be microchipped & have her initial vax on Friday, & she's booked in for neutering next Tuesday.

The scrummy lass is due to have a visitor on Friday morning.

Anil gave Fly the once-over & pronounced her in good nick, (or whatever the professional terminology is. ). She was very stoical about her vax, but she did squeak a couple of times when she was microchipped, just to prove she's a proper Lurcher.
We're back at the vets on Tuesday for the big one, so please spare her a thought then.

Friday's visitors fell in love with Fly, & she with them, so the lass will be joining her new family on a date to be arranged following her post-op check next week.
