Today's meeting with Gracie's prospective adopters went really well, & from the moment they were introduced it was obvious that Suzanne & Paul were destined to become her new Mum & Dad - the attraction was instantaneous & mutual.
I'm sure that Gracie would happily have stayed in her new forever home by the seaside today, had it not been for prior commitments that Suzanne & Paul have, including a trip to the north, but they'll be coming up to Harlow to collect the wee lass on 1st June.
I'm delighted to say that this was one of those rehomings that has radiated good vibes right from the off, & 'tis great to know that little Gracie will be the subject of much love & the very best of care in her new environment.
Barney x
p.s. Annie accompanied us on our visit, & 'twould have been the easiest job in the world to rehome her too! ;D

On her way be united with her lovely new Mum & Dad Suzanne & Paul, Gracie stopped by to say hasta la vista to Auntie Jenny:
That impressive tail went into overdrive when Gracie saw her Mum & Dad again - she knew that she was headed for as good a forever home as any little lass could desire :
Gracie will leave a hole in my home-kennel totally uncommensurate with her size!
Suzanne phoned to say that they had arrived home safely - Gracie had travelled well, (as was expected), & was conducting a thorough inspection of her new home, interspersed with some treats.
Many congratulations Gracie, Suzanne & Paul - we know you will enjoy your new life together.
Barney x

Gracie, Suzanne and Paul would like to thank everyone who posted the lovely messages. Gracie is the most beautiful addition to our family that we could have wished for and it seems that she is lapping up the kisses and cuddles. After Gracie mastered how to walk on our laminate flooring, visited every room, had a drink, checked out the sunroof, she made straight for her new fluffed up bed and demonstrated what Barney told me is a major part of Lurcher lifestyle she slept deeply. While she slept we looked and stroked her and gave her lots of kisses. Then the in laws popped round and guess what, thats right, more kisses and cuddles. While all this was going on Gracie gave up on sleep and used her tail to flatten the pile on our carpet and every time the kisses stopped the paw motioned us into more action. She still has my mother and all our friends to meet! We went for a lovely walk along the beach and Gracie met a beautiful lurcher boy who flirted with our little girl and then ran off, how dare he, and then a trip to a nice quiet pub where Gracie was made most welcome. She seemed very much at home in this environment?! We want to say such a public thank you to Uncle Barney, Jenny and Reva and all the supporters of SLR we wouldnt have such a beautiful gift without you all. We will post a photo or two if we ever work out how! I also love the little faces where do you get them? Thank you xxxx

Many thanks for the update on your little lass Suz - it sounds as if everything is going precisely as we hoped, (& indeed predicted!), it would.
I really can't imagine where the idea came from that Gracie has been a frequenter of dog friendly hostelries................................................................

Hello Suzanne, Tears here while I was reading your lovely report on little Gracie coming into her forever home - it is always so heart warming and rewarding to see a little homeless hound finding her or his forever home. .................. These little hounds only deserve the very best, and with a bit of detective work the kind SLR angels got it spot on for little Gracie and as it turned out she could not have found a nicer mum and dad.................... Be assured, ALL lurchers can very quickly figure out how to pull best on people's heart strings . Little Gracie managed to do this particularly well as she is such a friendly little girl......... Be very happy with your girlie, and please enjoy our friendly forum where we are always eager to read about our lurchers' latest antics......... ;D Viviane. X PS: The little faces you like can be found quite easily if you want to post something. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says "reply." Just click onto this little box and the reply page will pop up which allows you to post a reply. There are sixteen different little faces to choose from - enjoy and have fun!

ooooooh how lovely trust me not to see what is right in front of my nose . Thank you for replies. Today I found out that Gracie is not interested in a paddle, she ignores our resident one footed seagull, she knows how to give the lads the brush off and boy does she love her bed. The seagulls do not feel the same way about her and have been swooping, still Gracie ignores them which I find is the best thing to do as they do love attention - especially people who run for cover ;D I think they will soon be the best of friends! Today will be at Gracie's pace as her tummy was a little upset after the upheaval - nothing to worry about Barney, just nerves. I will use the forum which is so well done and hope to meet some of you at future events.
