Awww.... Bye bye Alfie McVitie! I'll miss you. Be good. I had the pleasure of watching him (from behind a tree) running free with Milo yesterday. It was quite a big tree and hardly shook at all when they thundered past ;D

Be happy with your new Mum and Dad Alfie McV , you look like a totally different boy to the day you were found in the wheelbarrow.
Jenny you must be so pleased at his recovery and him going off to his forever home, you have made such a difference to his life. But I bet you've shed a little tear as well!

Had a phone call from Carol tonight. Alfie has been racing round the garden with his new brother Monty and is happy as larry. He has woofed down his dinner (always has ;D) and has chosen his bed. And yep... I shed a bit more than a tear. He is such a lovely lovely hound. His biopsy results came back today and as we thought, it was an allergy to flea bites. No big problems ahead. I'm assured that photos will follow. ;D

A lovely update from Carol today on Alfie..... "Alfie is just wonderful - as you will see from the attached photos - he won first prize for the “best rescued dog” at our village fete last month (six dogs in the class). He has settled in so well and is a well loved member of our family. Everybody loves him - he is especially good with the children. Monty and Alfie are inseparable - where one goes, the other goes. Alfie has grown taller and put on some (much needed) weight and muscle tone. Our vet is pleased with him and says he’s in good condition now. We have taught him to sit and his recall is good. We’ve booked him in for some one-to-one training lessons next month to try and overcome his pulling on the lead and fear aggression towards some other dogs while out walking on the lead. He is obedient and a quick learner so he’ll soon get the right idea. (He’s fine with other dogs when he is off the lead running around the fields)". And piccies... What a happy happy endings. I would have easily have kept this little lad, as I so love him, but just see how happy he is. And so loved.
