I just love Alfie, Met him on the recent lurcher walk, I would of cuddled up and taken him home...You are doing such a great Job Jenny This is very true - Alfie has come on in leaps & bounds since he first came into Jenny's care, & he now looks & acts a completely different hound to the poor pathetic wee soul that first arrived on her doorstep.

Took Alfie to Anil yesterday as he seems to have a soreness along his backbone which isn't healing like the rest of his skin and fur. Anil agreed that we should take some samples for analysis so Alfie is going back under sedation again tomorrow for skin scrapes. He is a brave lad, and has been to the vets now around 6 times, and 3 of those for treatements. He is so lovely and just moults at the vets because he is scared. We are crossing fingers that this is nothing untoward.

He's just about healed up underneath from his neutering op and he has to have anesthetic tomorrow so we decided tonight was right. Michael took the 3 boys out first and wore Tag and Milo out and I followed on with the girls once they had circuited the field several times with their games and we just slipped his lead. We had got Tag and Milo back on lead so that he had a Tag free run. He is just so funny. All legs and he doesn't know what to do with them, they pounce like a cross between a cat and a prancing pony. We called him back after a minute and he came, tucked himself right behind us. Michael held him for a few seconds, praised him and sent him off again. He ran into the woods with Sofi and Mim followed Out they all came having games. Mim thinks he is great ;D We let him have a little run for another couple of minutes and slipped leads onto him and Megan until we got back to the woods and again slipped his lead for him to wander and sniff. He came back every time on command and wagging. He has a very satisfied look on his smug little face now. You've got to love him.

All good news so far. No sign of Dermodex, or even worse, Mange. Poor Alfie has three bald patches now and whilst he was under the anaesthetic Anil took biopsies, so he has 3 cross stitches too. Poor mite couldn't wait to get out of the vets. He has had 4 visits there now and each time he has had needles, and ops. They said he was a poppet. He had chicken nuggets for lunch when I got him home. I'll pop a piccie of him on when he gets back from his walk with Michael. x
