Many thanks for the update Jean, & to Paul for his devotion to duty! ;D Lovely to see pics of the long-suffering Archie too.

I love that last photo in particular - everything looks serene with three dogs lying calmly on their beds, until you realise Belle is eating Archie ! Not sure how feasible this is, but would it be possible to try Mischa with something like the "Mutts Need Manners" classes run by Laura and Penel? They're great for socialising dogs in a more controlled environment. Just a thought!

OMG. I just love that last update with Belle eating Archie. ;D ;D Mischa is learning. You are brilliant with them Jean. I am sure she doesn't need extreme behavioural school, but she does need socializing and that is what has been lacking in her upbringing. As far as we know she was bought by a lady who lived in a flat and she didn't get out much at all. She then became too much on the lead outside and the naughty bits started like chasing the bikes and barking at oncoming dogs. Now, if she had been socialized more when she was younger, and checked for this behaviour it wouldn't have got this bad. The more she is exposed to new things, new dogs, new people and lots of tlc but a good firm hand, she will change. She is changing. I can see that already with the piccies at Jeans. Thank you Jean for taking her on. Barney should be havng a little rest, but the rescue world never lets up, and I think he now has a new little one in situ waiting for a foster home.

I never meant to sound like I was doubting Jean at all, it's just that classes have really helped Percy to react less to other dogs when he's out. I know you're doing a grand job with her, honest!

Don't worry Belle and Archie a the best of mates he loves to play with her and she is very gentle with him, he won't leave her alone all I can say its a good job they are both done. And I am open to any suggestion that will help Mischa to get over her issues with dogs, bikes, joggers etc. She is a lovely little girlie and just wants to be the playful pup that she should be its just a shame she has had such a bad start in life. She is a joy to have in the house its just outside we need to work on. I have only had her a few days and its going to take a while for her to show any improvement. And at the end of the day she might need more help than I can give her, but I will give it a good try first. Any ideas to help her overcome these issues welcome.

Jean & I have been pooling our knowledge of Mischa, & we both agree that she is absolutely fine with young kids, providing they are dog savvy.
She is no problem with Dolly, (who soon puts her in her place if necessary), & Belle, just as she wasn't with my crew. Jean is working hard to try & help Mischa overcome her issues with strange dogs.
Jean's son-in-law Paul has volunteered to test Mischa's reaction to cats in the home, as she's not been OTT when encountering felines whilst out for walks, & Jean will take up this offer when she feels the time is right.

Yes thanks for that Barney as I have said before she played with grandchildren at the weekend in my garden of course fully supervised as I don't know Mischa that well myself yet, but she had a ball and so did they. Just some photos of her joining in the fun. Pinching their toys In and out the play tent They had been throwing the ball through the tunnel for her, she though it was a good game. Up close and personal with Belle on my bed of course. I do make the bed sometimes when the dogs will let me. ;D ;D And sharing the sofa with Dolly.

Jean I know you were interested in our experiences with Penny and "other dogs"! We have found that Penny is better with "strange" dogs in the house, rather than outside. We currently have an old miserable JRT staying for four days, and whilst she's not Penny's new best friend she is tolerating her really well and has made no attempt to eat her and is not stressed out by her presence. I think she trusts our judgment with dogs that come into the home, whereas outside she can't deal with dogs coming towards her. But on this mornings walk she completely ignored four GSD's going berserk behind the fence we were walking alongside and only panted when we met a black lab - this indeed is progress. People and things she is fine with - just other dogs! We try and steer away from any other dog and just let her see them in the distance. If its unavoidable I try and walk her passed really quickly and her wearing a harness helps with that, as you have more to grab if necessary and any pulling isn't on her neck. But interestingly, she never looks back, no matter how badly she has howled and lunged the moment the other dog has passed it is forgotten about. She is improving, but it is a long slow process. We've had her for nearly four months now and she is better than at the beginning. Hope this gives you some hope, even if it doesn't give you any answers. Caroline x

Lovely to see Mischa running free Jean - just what she needs! Please don't worry about Belle bringing her down - it happens to Mummy Chook's Sofi all the time: mebbe Mischa is another natural 'target dog' for other hounds.
I'm sure the lass will soon bounce back, as they always do, & be looking forward to her next session. ;D

It was worth every penny of BH rates to see that little girlie having some fun. Just bad luck that she pulled a muscle. I doubt whether she has ever had any off-lead fun or even any length of lead walks. Thanks you Jean. Lovely video. xxx

I do fell bad about it but its just Lurcher play and Dolly and Belle do it all the time to each other but they are more of equal size, and we often walk with my daughters little bichon Archie and we have no problems, I suppose he is not lurcher size to play with so of no interest to a sight hound.

Jean the progress she has clearly made is one reason i would love to be able to foster, to see them "grow" Well done she looks like she had such a good time It is nice as you say when you foster them you can see them grow and give them opportunity's to have new experiences but it comes at a cost sometimes after what happen with her first of lead run. But I am happy to say things have improved no end today and she is a lot more comfortable on that bad leg she will be on anti inflammatory drugs for a few days but there is a marked improvement already. So there will be no holding her back. ::)but I will be more careful with her next time.
