Hi Jean. Wow. you did good with the men today. This happened to Jackie with Lilah. She just told them that she had a displaced hip and they went away. I have discs on mine that say that they have heart defects and ring immediately. As to the photos. Go into modify your post. Then go to photobucket and look at the option just above the pictures. They should say edit, delte and resize. Click on resize and then click on website. They should then appear as the right size for the post. You are doing good. Bernice had to post and alter my piccies for months. Our Sofi is a lonesome little thing and every night takes herself away somewhere to have a kip. Lots of tlc and walks will bring Belle round. You are so used to a little mischief that an angel takes some getting used to ;D

How true, I do love reading the antics of Sykes, I think Gypsy was a female version of him!

Love the pic Keith, yes I am a soft touch for black and white beauties. No doubt because of my other little lurcher. Belle has been a little star again today, so laid back about everything. Had my chimney/roof fixed today the man who did the job loved her, and even when he started banging on the roof took no notice, just snoozed away. Also had a couple viewing my bungalow today, the she was like queen bee on the bed again. They laughed when I said I was only fostering her they said that dog wont be going anywhere. So watch this space. I had to leave her this evening to collect my car as it had a service and MOT, and I know having a new dog they can get separation anxiety, I was only gone half an hour and she was so pleased to see me when I came back I got all the lurcher talk, then she actually jump and run around the place. It was lovely its the first time she has appeared really happy since she arrived. Managed two good walks today even without the car, now she is snoozing again guess where no not my bed on the sofa, well they do have to have a comfy place.

I know people are saying they hope you fail, but dont think you are under any pressure. If you find shes not the dog to be made permanent in your home, thats fine, ok? Hugs xxx

I know some of you may have concerns that I might end up adopting the lovely Belle for the wrong reasons because of my circumstances and pressure from other folks. But hopefully I am old enough and wise enough not to let my heart rule my head, or let others peoples opinions affect my judgment on this matter. I am sure its everyones wish that I just end up with the right dog for me. And I know if I don't become a failed fosterer that SLR will find the perfect home for Belle. Just at this moment in time I am helping her out and she is helping me so that can only be a good thing. We both need lot of love and cuddles at the moment, and thats in plenty full supply. .

I wouldn't have asked you to foster Belle if I didn't think you were level headed. And you have a check list, quite rightly that needs to be soted before any decisions as to whether Belle receives prospective adopters is made.
Although we all feel that Belle is also level headed, she still needs to meet toddlers, puppies and dense population. But as Jean said, she is doing good so far.
Thanks for taking her in as a foster Jean, especially as it was short notice. ;D
I can safely say that she is in the best possible care. ;D

Thank you Jazz, I know you are all out there to help me. I know you are all loving and caring people on SLR I am so glad I that I become a member. I don't know what I would have done without the love and support of everyone at SLR, from losing my beloved Gypsy to fostering Belle. I am gratefully of any support out there that folks can give me. I love you all, for being the nice people you are.

I think I can say our Little Miss Belle is gaining confidence by the day. On our walk today she met a 7 month Doberman, and a 4 month rottweiler and she was fine with them, just put the Doberman in his place as a lady would when he kept putting his nose up her backside, Who can blame her. Found my old dogs create of toys and pulled a few out to play with as much as to say am I allowed. She still has to follow me from room to room, but I am sure that will pass. Over the weekend she will meet my daughters cats, and my young grandchildren. Not all on the same day. So watch this space, I am sure we shall all have fun!

Just to update you all on Belle I have spoken to Jenny today and now this story will have to be moved to happy endings as I have decided to adopt the lovely Belle. She is such a lovely hound met all the family over the weekend including three little ones under six. She was so good with them and loved everyone, and she is beginning to settle here really well. She is such a lovely dog I am sure she must have been someones family pet. Its just a shame she was never claimed from the kennels. But their loss is my gain and I could not be happier about it, and will do my best to give Belle the best life a hound can have. I know she will never replace my beloved Gypsy, and I would not want her to. She is a totally different dog and just as lovely in her own way. When I lost Gypsy I contacted Lynne at rescue remedies as thats the rescue Gypsy came from then I told them I was fostering for SLR. the reply from them was . Wonderful news Jean, Gypsy would wish you to pick yourself up and help another of her family. And I know they are right. So I was lucky the lovely Belle came along, to help me pick myself up and get on with life. All being well it will be a happy endings and new beginnings for us both. Any way my family just fell in love with her, they all said she was so lovely she had to stay. I will try to post some pics so you can see her meet the family.
