Well after months of searching we finally found our new companion and this afternoon brought the lovely Amber home. Now re named Kiya, an egyptian word meaning jovial lady, and jovial she certainly is.......in a whirling dervish kind of way. Here are the first couple of pics of her

Just got an email from Kate and Sid. .......................................
Hi Jenny,
She’s a little star, we took her today to her first puppy party, she played really nicely-full of fun but no aggression and all the other dogs were much younger. We’re making progress with her house training but it’s not easy in this atrocious weather. She’s very loving and very playful and soooo pretty.
We’ll send you some more pics soon when we can take our eyes off her for one second!!!!
XX love Kate.

Have I told you how proud I am? This little girl has been offlead twice now, (well away from sheep, promise) and I'm training her with a whistle and a big bag of cheese!!! Fortunately she doesn't like to let me out of her sight so that's half the battle, her recall is amazing even though she would like to chase absolutely everything!! Lead walking is coming on but it's hard for her to show restraint especially on the high st as she loves everyone and everything. I'm finding it hard to fault anything about this little dog and although I'm exhausted and my stress levels are through the roof I wouldn't change a hair of her. Wish me luck, I have to take her up to Cheshire next week...... ON THE TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is a halti the one that goes around the nose? She has a harness. Thanks for your feeding advice Jenny, the squits have eased up, thankfully.

Yep, the head halter. I would use that and a lead on the collar too, that way you can steer her ;D When she gets bigger, you can get a saddle for her ;D

She must be one of the prettiest dogs on the planet. I am so glad she is progressing so nicely, Kate. Is she making any progress in being clean in the house?

Everyone she meets comments on how pretty she is, of course I'm biased. The house training is going really well, she is dry and clean in her crate every night and as long as I don't let up with the regular garden visits has not had an accident indoors for a while now.
WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU IN THE PUPPY TRAINING MANUAL.....
She's discovered that small hard apples from our tree are more fun to mess about with than going for a pee when I take her for her last one at night so it takes ages and I'm standing around in the sub zero temperature begging her to 'GO TINKS' in a high pitched voice until she's ready!!!!!

Hi Kate glad to hear she is doing so well and I will pass on the latest news to Heathlands. Just be careful of her overdoing the running bit - she is such a young lively pup she may do herself some muscle damage - they just dont know when to stop sometimes those lurchery pups. Have a great christmas. Sue
