Carole has just phoned to confirm that they have arrived home safely, & Bailey was an absolute star throughout the journey.
The boy is now happily exploring his new surroundings, & we're promised frequent updates on his progress, (+ pics, naturally! ;D ).

I think you're going to have to start a local group anna- Danny's just down to E. Grinstead which is a little while away from you and they sounded keen on a local lurcher walk

Carole & Rob have sent these pics of the adorable Bailey starting the settling in process:
'Tis strange being in the home-kennel without him, but made bearable by the fact that we know the lad has gone to the best possible forever home for him.

An update on the lovely lad just received from Carole:Bailey has settled in very well. After his initial sniff around - everywhere, he decided quite quickly that he liked our sofa the best! We did manage to get him off the sofa with a promise of a walk and a dinner that he ate with no fuss at all. He was a very good boy and slept on his bed all night (not a whisper from him). This morning at 6.45, I found him stretching in the hall, and his bed was still warm. Out he popped for a widdle - walking straight past our rabbits. The comings and goings of the early morning with school and work, kept him busy - he didn't know who to shadow/follow - he didn't want to miss out on anything! After we had all gone he had only Rob at home and followed him everywhere - he is a complete poppet. Rob had a friend visit this morning and these are his words on e-mail to me here at work: 'He was really lovely with Ruth too - slunk off but kept coming round the door and so wanting to be brave. At last he came up and then kept nosing her and enjoyed a fuss. He is lovely!' The girls - Sophie and Lucy, didn't want to go to school this morning! However they are shortly to return, and I bet the whole school now knows about Bailey. I too can't wait until my job finishes now on the 20th. In my lunch hour today I got an identity tag made, and got the pet insurance sorted. I shall therefore send you your tag back with the proof of the insurance tomorrow. We are all so pleased with Bailey, and so happy. We would like to thank you and Jenny so much for looking after him and making him well. You have done such a good job. He is such a delight. Thank you so much for letting us, give Bailey a home. He is already part of our family, and we all love him so much. When I have some spare time I will send you some photos of him in his new home, until then. (Best do some work, I suppose)! Looks as if we might just have made the right choice of a forever home for the boy!

Ooooohhhhh yes please, I'll let him settle in a bit, before a Finn experience ;D
I was hoping we could have a Lurcher walk in the future? Finn really likes to play with other dogs, but at the moment he is off lead only in the garden or the tennis court. I have been asking local farmers if any of them have a secure stock field for a doggy run about, one of them will come up trumps soon I'm sure. Would you be interested?

Thank you Anna for our passing our home check so quickly. We are so glad we didn't miss out on this lovely lad, he is fabulous. You know where we are and you are welcome to pop in and see Bailey whenever you want. Be patient. The first 24 hours he'll be as good as gold. Next he'll test the limits and be a pain. Then he'll be fine See Saluki recall
