He is such good fun to photograph. We produce our own greetings cards here, so no doubt a Lurcher range is just around the corner. Plus I have an idea for a life size Finn oil portrait on his forever chair. I have three cow portraits to finish first though......

Finn has settled in really well, we think he likes it here He now sleeps in the kitchen and comes and wakes us up at 6am. I get a big and Paul gets a kangaroo jumping game on his side of the bed. Finn has us sussed. We take him for a lead walk and then off lead run in the tennis court every morning and he has taught us to let him horizon scan at certain points and walk next to the hedges. I play with him in the garden a few times a day and he comes when I call him if there is nothing more interesting in sight, like a squirrel. In the evening he has a walk around the village with horizon scan at the sheep field and he is getting used to the local cats. We let him off lead on Sunday in a remote field and he took a leisurely stroll around, ignored our calls to come back, until we hid behind a hedge and then he came running ;D We think he misses other dogs, so have been busy calling on our friends, plus our family dropped in. Here are a few pics. Sharing the bean bag with Rosie Auntie Kay says biscuit Uncle Matt organises photo shoot He makes friends with the puppy next door Bill and the beautiful whippets I will probably post future images of Finn in Rogues Gallery x

If he's missing company- how about another one?

Very tempting but we are unsure whether so early on, is a good time to have a second? What if Finn doesn't really get along with them Or they play kangaroo games all day and drive me nuts? If somebody could adopt Bailey that would help me enormously to stop thinking about another one x

Although things were tense with our dogs he did value their company. It meant we could leave him up to four hours as with the dogs there he wasn't bothered and although I know you're there anyway this would be a bonus. To be honest it's totally your decision; you seem to be having a lovely time with him. He's so laid back and adapts and settles so easily that he'd most likely be fine with it and probably enjoy another doggy friend, although from our experience I think he'd like it better with a bitch (and a calm one if you're worried about kangaroo games ;D) I'm sure he'd be fine on his end so it's up to you really

Hi Rowan That's really helpful, can you elaborate why you think a bitch? All of my friends have said get two dogs, but I loved our last girl Ruby very much, she was aloof and certainly didn't do raindrops, let alone anything as vigorous as kangaroo, but she did do recall ;D

Well when he was here he did like having our dogs around, but he could be dominant and pushy with them. He liked to take over their beds and would growl at them when they came too close to where he was and wanted to be the top dog; he instigated a couple of scuffles as he wouldn't back down to our two. This happened after he was neutered as well. This could have just been a personality clash but we feel it was because they were males and he wanted to be the only boy around. I think he'd like to be the only male with a girlfriend companion.

Thanks for sharing that. We have decided to stay as a pack of three until it feels like the right time to grow. When we do we shall look for a girlie. In the meantime Finn has been invited round to play with two sets of new doggy friends both of whom have paddocks x
