Callum trotted happily into the vets with his tail gyrating as usual - whether it'll still be wagging quite as much this afternoon after his op remains to be seen.

When I collected him from the vets, Callum walked towards me just as he had left me this morning, tail going nineteen to the dozen. He was a big hit with the surgery staff.
The op went well, & Callum's fine, though looking a tad sorry for himself:
The Hooligans were pleased to see him back, & Winnie has of course been making sure that he's o.k. :
The lad's now resting up whilst his chicken breasts are roasting.

He does look sorry for himself, but glad to hear he's ok.
Winnie is sooo lovely - she really does look after them.

Callum's post-op kip didn't last very long: about an hour after my last post, he was ready to join t'others in the queue waiting to go out for our afternoon perambulation, & as soon as we were back he devoured his chicken in no time flat, eating & wagging at the same time.

Callum continues to demonstrate his ability to take a nap absolutely anywhere at any time:
We went to the vets this morning, where he's a great favourite with the staff, & he happily submitted to cuddles from all of them.
Anil pronounced himself pleased with the way Callum's op scar has healed, & the lad once again stood happily wagging with nary a flinch whilst his second jab was administered.
I'd promised him that we'd go for a wander after his appointment, & when we reached the common I decided on the spur of the moment that I'd let him off lead. He thoroughly enjoyed himself exploring his surroundings:
& his recall??................................................
......................................brilliant!!!
This lad is a Superstar!!!

As a result of the current weather conditions, the consequent state of the garden, & indulging in Lurcher play with Annie, Callum's coat is no longer the pristine blonde colour it used to be:
Methinks the dog brush will be earning its keep in the foreseeable future.

barney do you know if he'd be left as an only dog OK and his height pleaseeeeeeeeee Callum stands about 25" to the shoulder Claire, (although this can be deceptive, as he quite easily takes up the whole length of a 3-seater settee when the mood takes him! ).
I believe that whilst he doesn't necessarily need another dog around, (he particularly loves human company), leaving him on his own has not been put to the test since he's been here. There have been no problems leaving him in the company of my crew for up to three hours.
Barney x
