Paul phoned to say that the journey back to Hayling Island yesterday was totally uneventful, & Ellie hardly stirred.
She's settling in well & she Brodie are getting on fine - they greeted each other like long lost friends when they awoke this morning. It seems very much as if Ellie is intent on ruling the roost, (of course, 'twas ever thus with the distaff side! ).
We suspected that Ellie might be coming into season, & indeed she has, so regrettably she'll have to give the Havant meet & greet a miss on Saturday.
Paul has promised further updates as & when, but so far, so very good.

On my way home with Bonnie and Sam I spotted a lady with a large black dog and a small black dog. I turned round and passed her slowly from behind. Still not sure I turned round again and it was Ellie, Brodie and new Mum. Had to pull over and have a chat. Guess where she slept last night? She is even prettier in the flesh. Look forward to seeing lots of her. Joy

News of Ellie & her new brother Brodie just received from Paul:The pictures were taken when we got home on Sunday and they have got on well from the start. Everyone we meet thinks Ellie is Brodie's Pup as they look so much alike apart from the size. She is like a tornado running round the house. I now have even less lawn - both dogs are now using the garden as a running track racing round and round until they are out of breath. Took them to the Vet yesterday and Ellie had her booster injection and another check-up; the Vet thinks she will be ready to be spayed early March. Many thanks for the update Paul - 'tis great to know that the hounds are enjoying each other's company, (sorry about the Lurchered lawn though! ).
Cheers, Barney

Lovely progress report received today from Paul & Linda on Hayling Island. Just a quick up-date on Little Ellie, First of all we have named her Mia, long story but she is referred to as Mini or Me (Mini Me as in the Austin Power film). She looks an exact mini copy of our Greyhound Brody & she soon picked up her name (Mia) and is responding well to living with us. Brody and Mia get on so well, they sleep together, eat together out of the same dish if we do not supervise, and play together although Brody often takes himself to a quiet part of the house when she gets too energetic. She runs round the house like a hurricane, but likes also to sit quiet and loving everyone who visits. Our garden is now a big mud-bath, both chase round and round at full speed, it’s like a black blur at times, the mud however gets everywhere. We have not let her off lead yet but I think we will soon start training her to come back. Although she responds to cats I don’t think she would hurt them; ducks and swans are another story, she goes for these as soon as she sees them, we are now walking her past a pond so she can get used to them before letting her off. We have some new photos, taken when she opened her Christmas presents. We received the vax certs,& the Vet says we should wait to March to have her spayed, 12 weeks after her season finished.
