The first night was disturbed. Poor lamb has had so many changes and he couldn’t settle. Maggie is in no place to offer any comfort right now so w head barking and whining on and off all night.
This morning he’s met maggie and the the kids. He’s pretty calm. Tried to initiate play with Maggie. She’s having non of it so he just respected that. Good for all concerned with leg issues and surgery. She growled at him When he got on her bed. He paid no mind and she was at a loss as to how to follow that up. He reminds me a little Of Freddie. He needs to be a bit mothered. Maggie May off her that once she feels better. Who knows. How I wish my wonderful lady Sal was here. She’s have sorted him out.
He’s been great with the kids. He’s just a pup so does pup thing. Very inquisitive.
He was more settled last night. In no way shape or form house trained.
He’s met maggie and he’s pretty respectful. Would like to initiate play but respects her saying no. Loves the kids. Loved company. Has tried to hump maggie and Jonny but responds well to being corrected.
Still limping. I want to get him to the vet next week for that and vaccinations.
He’s a total poppet. David those photos are amazing.
Tonight is not going so well. Lemon wants to be wit Maggie. Maggie who has never been upstairs has spent the whole night hiding in my daughters room which is the furthest away from Lemon that you can get. When he went on to see her he got told off quite fiercely. He’s such a puppet he really hasn’t been that much of a bother to her. But she could still be feeling under par. Lemon is still unsettled. Following us around. Unsettled ah night so we e not sorted out sleeping arrangements really. I’m Wondering if he would benefit from a crate.
Give him a while and he’ll gradually settle and stop following you. I normally expect it to take a couple of weeks but some stop within days while others take much longer. I’ve also found that even the most reluctant dog eventually comes to accept the foster dog, albeit not particularly enthusiastically!
Lemon is a love. He’s so friendly and calm and a real placid little fella. He’s got plenty of get up and go And life in him but we are keeping him calm because of that leg. He’s off to the vets next week. I can’t praise how lovely this lad is enough. He’s been great with Jonny and Eleanor. Fab with maggie and so good with visitors. He’s going to make a wonderful wonderful family Member. I think he will respond to training well Too he’s so smart.
