Safely delivered to Carol. I took him for a brief walk around Rownhams services after meeting David. He did some wees and a bit of yellow squits. The poor boy is rather thin so not surprising he has an upset tummy too! He hopped up into the car and travelled very well. He lay down with his head down all the time on the motorway, but stood up and had his head out of the window sniffing the breeze once we were in the town. At Carol’s he greeted Sadie respectfully and then explored the kitchen....and hoovered up the last bit of her kibble! Then he went back into the hall where Sadie was lying and did a few play bows to try to interest her in a game. She was not interested, but it shows he’s fairly relaxed around new dogs.
Hope his progress continues well.

Gorgeous photos of Monty . Monty has arrived and is already finding his feet, his prime objective at the moment is humping my Sadie and she had a few Grrrrr moments. I've had to be quite firm with him that this is not acceptable so we will see how long the peace that has descended lasts. He is currently next to her on the armchair trying to lick her intimately at every opportunity.

I can't believe he's allowed to share a chair with Sadie already!! Only nice things in your life now Monty, can't wait to see him with a full tummy, and a shiny coat. Nice work everyone, and good luck Carol. Is he your first foster? X

Well done everyone. What a handsome lad - apart from the ears and colour, quite similar to Zeph.

A handsome lad that's for sure. Hope his tum settles down soon. Thanks to Carol and Sadie for fostering him, and to David and Keith for transportation.

Must be time for a progress report - after the first couple of hours trying to hump Sadie and many GRRRRRRR get offs from Sadie calm has descended in the household. Monty is so so gentle , he's been upstairs and likes to follow me but I'm not encouraging that as I don't want him getting SA. I left them in separate rooms yesterday when I went to work and all well on my return. Monty seems to be house trained up to a point- all wees so far outside and poops in and out but has a poorly tum so chicken and rice for dinner to see if I can settle it down a bit. He came upstairs with me last night , and slept on the floor , Sadie got upstairs with a struggle as she wasn't going to be left behind. We went for a walk in the park yesterday-just Monty and he was perfect on the lead, no pulling whatever, interested in his surroundings and sniffing, a bit wary of the roadworks nearby. He's been very quiet- just a bit of Saluki chat at Sadie once yesterday when she wouldn't play. He likes his yoga, he was doing a lot of dog stretches first thing on waking limbering up. He ate his breakfast this morning and just found him with his head in Sadie's sack of dog food , now chomping on a hide bone. He's booked in for neutering next week at Afrivet.

We are making progress on that front, only one so far today and half way towards normal, and outside.
