Second night Monty decided he was going to sleep on my bed, I asked him to get off as I felt it was unfair that Sadie could no longer get on the bed so he did, went to bathroom and he was back up again when I got back. Asked him to get off and he did- you can tell where this is going can't you? 3 or 4 more returns to the floor and by then he stopped getting off and came and snuggled up next to me and put his head against my neck and looked at me with big brown eyes saying "really mummy you don't really really mean that do you mummy? so yep he stayed. Sadie stood by side of bed looking most displeased and moaned a little then settled down on the.floor beside us as she just can't get up these days.
If I sit at my desk Monty will come and stand at the side of me with his head hovering over my lap, not pestering but just being close. They came out for a joint car ride and we went to a cafe to meet a friend, both quiet and well behaved as many other barking dogs there. Have left them both home together when I went out last night and not kept apart- returned and they had both been in the same room on different chairs, so all quiet on my return.

Monty sounds just gorgeous. You will have to get some of those doggy steps so Sadie can join you and Monty on the bed!

Oh Wow- I'm not sure whether to show Sadie those steps or not- usualy just getting up the stairs is out of the question- it's only because Monty has been up there that she has struggled up.

Today we had a joint walk with Sadie so they both enjoyed a good sniff and slow mooch around, Monty encountered his first squirrel with me and he definitely wanted to chase, no surprise there. He was in and out the car with no problem, both dogs travelled together very well. Monty had a solo walk this afternoon and met a few dogs and greeted them all nicely. He's had a few bone shaped biscuits this evening after dinner and took them off me very gently like Sadie does. Sadie likes the settee but has usualy stretched out on it in comfort when I have vacated and won't often join me idf I'm there first. This evening Monty came and snuggled up by me on the settee so Sadie came along and decided to join in so Monty was squidged between myself , the back of the settee and had Sadie lolling on top of him, so he just sort of melted and stayed there until Sadie got bored and I fell off. He is still there now.......

Just had another lovely double walk with sadie and Monty, we poodle along quite slowly for Sadie but Monty very happy with this and they take alternate stops and sniffs as we go round. Trying to think what bits make up a Monty- I am thinking the markings most like a Daschund and temperament reminds me a bit of a Spaniel- very gentle and soulful. Poops are back to normal and all outside so far today . I threw a toy for him earlier and so far not a glimmer of interest, probably thinks it's just another thing I've dropped and nothing to do with him. Sadie's not exactly showing him the way in the toy department. LOL

Definitely looks like a Saluki x to me. And he sounds like a dream of a hound so far.

Oh yes at least 50% Saluki that goes without saying- it was the other 50% I was pondering over.
