I was surprised when you said the cavaliers were aggressive ,all the ones I've known have been super friendly and /or total wimps 🙂 That's generally been my experience too Gill - I can only guess that there must be summat aggression-inducing in this pair's food!

I felt that I should post an update on Tinker's progress, though in truth nowt much has changed, & I suspect that owt I write will merely be repeating what has gone before.
The lad is happy, confident, obedient, (mostly!), & an absolute joy to share life with. When I say mostly obedient he usually comes to me when I call his name, but if he doesn't I've discovered that "Oi!" does the trick.
He's deferential to Annie & Sandy, still not a bin raider or counter-surfer, not destructive of anything except the odd cuddly toy. He's also been totally clean indoors since day one. His appetite is healthy, & he also enjoys a good bit of dog salad when we're out.
Talking of cuddly toys, I had to bin his Teddy bear - not through any fault of Tinker's, but because I rendered it unfit to keep! I'll not reveal the details, as they are a tad embarrassing & I'll leave it to your imagination, though I will admit that alcohol was involved....... Anyway, I've bought him a replacement, which was important, since Tinker gets very excited when he senses we're going for a walk & bounces all round the home-kennel with his Teddy in his mouth until it's time for him to have his lead on & I tell him that Teddy can't come with us.
Tinker regularly disappears into the woods for 10 or 15 minutes, but I'm no longer concerned that he won't return safely, albeit from a different direction than I anticipated.
There's been no noticeable change in his other-dog aggression, except that this becomes less evident with particular dogs that we meet frequently. This aspect of his character is still a work in progress.
The boy remains very affectionate, & likes to keep tabs on where his foster Dad is at all times.
I very much hope that Tinker will find his forever home soon, but in the meantime 'tis no hardship to have him on board here.

Another plus point on Tinker's CV:
Whereas Annie & Sandy flee the room when the hoover makes an appearance, the lad stays resolutely where he is, his reaction? "Am I bovvered - nah."

Lovely update, I think you will miss each other when he finds his forever home Barney. Fins a bit heavy on the soft toys, my mum spends many happy hours sewing them up and turning them into totally unrecognisable creatures in the process 🤣, I've taken to the charity shops for replacements, just need to make sure they don't have the hard eyes and noses 😬.

On all of our off-lead walks Tinker spends considerable time & effort in attempting to dispose of his muzzle, hitherto without success. On our mid-afternoon walk today, however, he managed to partially dislodge it, with the muzzle ending up dangling under his chin & the lad looking very pleased with himself.
Since our arrival back in the home-kennel I've put my bradawl to use adding an extra hole to the muzzle strap, so the muzzle will be a smidgeon tighter & therefore hopefully stop his little tricks........
