I think her stiches must be a bit itchy now as she keeps trying to lick the wound. She wore a jumper for bed, and we'll get a couple of little t-shirts for the daytime. We're trying to let her have as much time out with us as possible so the dogs all start to work things out, whilst making sure Poppy's supervised. She's tried out a couple of beds, and she's now napping on the sofa. If sleep is a healer, I think she'll do just fine.

There's a bit of flex on that Jenny, it's just that we're back to work then so the sooner we can get her sorted the better. We want to get her spayed whilst she's with us and settled. All three are doing well so far, so as every day passes that will hopefully continue. More importantly, we also don't want Poppy to pick up any cat reactivity so will be doing our best to avoid that. A little vest modification. Comfy?

Nice to see she's in pink! Yeah, that was lucky. Bit limited in our tiny Asda on a Sunday. I thought Andrew was going to come home with a boys polo shirt at one point, lol.

So happy to see Poppy poppet is settled nicely on the sofa We can't quite believe we're only on our first full day. All three are rubbing along pretty damn well. Much of that is down to her...she's just not phased by the odd grump at all.

Just a quick update - everything's going really well. Lizzie and Alfie are being very good with Poppy, and she just seems to have slotted in better than we could have imagined. We're feeling very chilled, as is Poppy who's attempted a couple of roaches already. She's been totally clean in the house and let me brush her teeth yesterday. Today she met my folks, their dogs Maggie and Ollie, snuggled up with my kid brother and had some roast chicken this avo and generally had a very nice Christmas day. Poppy followed me up the stairs this morning so Andrew hastily fitted the tall stair gate whilst I walked A&L. She bombed up no problem, but had to be carried back down. She seems to not know any commands at all, but don't let that put you off - she's so tiny that doesn't present a problem. Pops does like to stand on her hind legs for a fuss - I suspect something she learnt whilst in kennels, so we're working on 'down' as our first lesson. I also think she'd be a little thief, but she does give up after a few minutes once she knows she's not getting anything and settles down. Pops doesn't seem keen on visiting the garden when it's raining - nothing strange there. What's really lovely is, although she likes a cuddle, she's also been happy to settle on the sofa with A&L whilst we're messing in the kitchen or hoovering etc, so not too clingy. I bought her a little purple lamb toy who she seems to love. We've been taking photo's today and putting them on my FB page - will add them here tomorrow.

We all had a very lovely Xmas Day/evening, and Poppy had a good night in her crate. What's really lovely about her is that she's not over excitable. She's pleased to see you in the morning and wiggly in a sweet way. Poppy likes a little play with lamby, she's not manic which is lovely, just tosses him in the air. She tires quickly at the moment. A lot of time's spent like this... With a little bit of this... Who'd have thought we'd be seeing such closeness on the 2nd full day? With the pack.

Great to see she has settled in so well and been accepted by Lizzie.
Now she just needs to build up the strength in her chest and back muscles.
Looking good!

Looks like she would suit a family that would like a calm, gentle presence but it sounds like she would fit in just about anywhere. Well done Loz and Andy (and Alfie and Lizzie for accepting her and making her feel at home).

It does not seem to have taken Lizzie long to surrender to Poppy's charms. What a delightful little girl. xx

Poppy was a bit scared of the tape measure, but we managed to establish that she's a dainty 21 inches to the shoulder, which is just below the top of my knee cap. And we think fully grown. The kennels said she was a picky eater, and there was no sign the first couple of days, but this morning she turned her nose up at breakfast. She ate the kibble and chicken from my hand though, so didn't go hungry. The only thing that's of slight concern is that she's not interested in drinking. We're getting around this by adding plenty of water to her food. And I cooked up some lamb bone water, which she had a little drink of yesterday but refused today so I've syringed some of that into her mouth and got her to drink a little that way, and will keep doing that as long as we need to. There's water freely available here at all times so it's just she doesn't seem bothered. She's got some tartar build up on her teeth, but she let me give them a little brush okay. She'll also let you check her ears and feet without any problems, so easy to handle. Keith - you're absolutely right about needing to build up her muscles. She's doing very well bobbing around the house after Alfie and Lizzie, and lead walks around the garden.
