This poor girlie has served her 7 days, and has scrubbed up a lot better than she arrived. She can come out this weekend. Currently in Kent. Jenny, Could we please print those three images of Hope from when she came from the pound and how she is looking now. We would like to highlight her case and the plight of the homeless lurchers in the "Hampshire Christmas Meet and Greet" event this coming Saturday. xx

Thanks, Jenny. x
It is lovely to see that little Hope is beginning to trust already and showing so much affection, Barney. She must think she is in heaven now with you and your girls, bless her.

It is lovely to see that little Hope is beginning to trust already and showing so much affection, Barney. Yup, the small advances shown by foster hounds are just as rewarding in their own way as the big milestones.

Hope's vet visit this morning went well - she weighed in at exactly 22 kilos, happily there's no indication that she's pregnant, & her general condition is good. She has a little bit of plaque on her back teeth, & both lower canines are chipped. The vet put her age as probably a little bit older than two, & remarked on the length of the toes on her front paws. She had her first vax & she's booked in to be spayed next Tuesday.

Lovely update Barney. I've posted a warm coat for her today, hopefully you will get it tomorrow. I tried it on Inky and was a little large, but he only weighs 14.4 kg. so I think it will be perfect for her. X

A couple of days ago I stated that Hope was roaching to seek my attention - I was wrong, she's doing it just because she's a happy little bunny.

Not counting my chickens just yet, but happily the two additional daily walks appear to be paying dividends - yesterday was totally "accident" free indoors.
I've previously remarked that Hope has a healthy appetite, which doesn't paint an accurate picture - she eats like a horse! Prior to her arrival, the morning routine included leaving any uneaten breakfast for Annie & Sandy to graze on until 10.00a.m., when anything left was binned. With Hope on the scene there's no longer any such thing as leftovers.
A bit more info about the lass - she's been fine with every other dog she's met, just wants to make friends with them, & traffic doesn't faze her, which is helpful on our round the block comfort break walks, as most of them are close to the road.

We took copies of above pictures with us to particularly feature little "Hope" during our "Hampshire Christmas Meet & Greet" on Saturday and peope almost did not believe it was the same dog!! In this case, it shows what a huge difference a warm bath, good food, a lovely comfy bed (or sofa!) and lots of tlc has made to this little pound girl. And all thanks to her foster dad Barney and his two resident hounds who have shown little "Hope" that life can be good!
