Maggie has started to move around the house more freely and started to show her playful side. She's running about a bit and jumping. She jumped towards me and Jonny this morning and licked us both - Jonny is a bit unnerved and told her 'no' but he's warming to her but likes to not approach her face. In fact this morning she moved round the house so much she left via the front door as we were packing up the kids for the childminder. She trotted up the lane a bit then trotted back to the house. Scared the life out of me but she does recognise the house and I feel Like if she were spooked now she would come Back to the house. Still we won't be so complacent again.
On the negative side of things she hates traffic. Particularly at night. I'm wondering if she's been lamping or something. Last night I walked her round the quietest streets possible but in the end she had had enough and pulled and pulled to get home. She didn't do a poo so we woke up to one this morning. As the nights are drawing in graham says he will do the evening walks and will walk her down by the river or via the park which isn't lit so I won't walk but it's where she is more comfortable so that should solve that issue.
I feel like she would love to get a chance to run now but obviously her recall is not good mainly because she is anxious. But I've found a field I can hire locally that is secure so I may be able to hire that a couple of times a week as a place to start and go from there.
Next week we have a date with my friend's French bulldog so hopefully that will go well. So far she has loved other dogs so I think once she's all medically Up to date she will like some doggy day care while we're at work.
I'm loving watching her blossom and come out of herself and also watching the relationships develop with all of us.

Could this be a failed foster??? You are so good at guessing Christine.

I wonder if we might fail. She just my type even down to being skittish. But we'll see how she goes. She deserves the best whatever happens. Tina - There was a big clue within 24 hours of her arriving with you! Congratulations - I think she will really come out of her shell now.

We lost Sal a year ago and I knew that worhnjonny being so young it was not the right time to get a dog but both Graham and I have been dog broody for so long. I follow a few rescues so I've seen dogs up for adoption and people told me when the time is right the right dog will come along. We transported Summer but it was obvious she wasn't right for us or us for her. Then Maggie needed help and I think it's was instant love.
Maybe she's an angel sent at the right time. Eleanor lives her and is so gentle with her and so is Jonny. My mum adores her too.

I might get a bit gooey at Harley. Perhaps you can convince Graham that wolfhounds are brilliant.
Having said that graham initially said he didn't want greyhounds - then he met Sal. And he always said he didn't like scruffy lurchers - then he met Maggie.

We both said a nutter saluki was not a dog we'd ever want/have, and then Liz-Lou somehow managed to weedle her way under our skin. X ETA: I'm not sure we'd have another one out of preference BUT you don't always have a say, lol.
