I don't often visit this section as too heart breaking and not in a position to help at the moment but just popped on and found the spitting image of Sadie. What a lucky girl Nettie is to come into SLR. Sending be happy vibes to her from her look alike Sadie and myself.

Nettie is being really good about me squirting cleaner and drops in her ears - once I get the cleaner and drops in she actually likes the massage. The cleaner cleans her ears and the drops are steroid to reduce the infection and inflammation. It takes some courage to do it but if I can be confident then she doesn't flick her head so much - the vet gave me a great demonstration which has made it easier to do. Hoping we'll get the result of the swab test early in the week and that will tell the vet if he needs to change the drops or we can continue with the current medication. He showed me some photos of how he had managed to reduce the inflammation and infection in a another dog but it took about 4 weeks. So you can see how bad her ears are I took the following photos to show first Daisy's ear and then Nettie's. You can see how difficult it is to get drops into her ear. To have got into this state will have taken a long time with no action to treat the infection. She's such a good girl to let me put drops in there without making a fuss.

What a contrast. Nettie's previous owners are beyond contempt for neglecting her basic health needs for so long. Well done Christine on learning a new skill to aid Nettie's healing. She is blessed to be in SLR and your care. More healing vibes being transmitted up the A329. xxx

Poor girl. Those ears must be really painful. Well done Christine for mastering the art of drops. Nettie probably realises you are doing it to help her.

Poor little girlie. The state of those ears. How is she doing today Christine? She's in my thoughts a lot as are you xx She's doing good, thanks for your kind thoughts! The stitches are looking clean and although she doesn't like me doing the ear cleaning she squeaks a bit but then just stands there and lets me do it. I'm taking her to the secure field tomorrow and will let her have a controlled run (no chasing with the other dogs!), which she loves. Nothing back yet from the swab test but I'm expecting the results in the next few days and we're back at the vets on Thursday. Watch out for news of a stay-over that we're hoping will be possible!

So glad that all is going well Christine. I'm not surprised she squeaks bless her, but she's so brave and such a poppet. Sounds like the pair of you will have fun tomorrow! And I'm still sending vibes for good results. Take care x

Thank you for all your positive vibes which have helped little Nettie's surgery wounds heal and she's looking quite trim now. Those awful tumours are gone and we're just waiting for the results of the biopsy and the swab from her ears.
It was lovely to see her off the lead today at the secure field we go to. She's decided that Duncan, who owns the field, is her new best friend. We took her into his garden this morning and she was really good about ignoring his pony. Here she is showing her new waistline and her recall!
