Hi Folks. So Lenny has been staying with us for the past week or so...to see how he'd settle in with the others, although first impressions after his meeting with Maisie was that he'd fit in just fine. He was a bit under par last weekend, possibly a change in diet/environment - who knows? But he bounced back to his normal self after a couple of days. We had a crate in their sleeping room which Maisie had used in her early days for eating, and we popped a bed in there for him - after about 3 nights he decided that he was far too grown up for that and hopped into a free 'open' bed. So how is he fitting in? Well we didn't expect Willow the Deerhound to be thrilled/interested- she's just aloof, far too 'private' to be bothered, Diggy, well Diggy get's involved from time to time but if he's not being walked he tends to a/ patrol the perimeter b/ shout warnings at anything that goes down the lane or c/ chill on the trampoline...surprisingly he's had a few chases with Lenny, but games aren't his bag, never have been! Leika....the oldest, she's cracking on for about 13 i think and since Maisie arrived she's rolled back the years. A bit like a 70 year old Mo Faroe she has bursts of energy and has a chase around with Lenny and Maisie.... But Maisie & Lenny? Well they're closest in age- and mentality. Maisie is all action, she tends to be at 11 on the dial all day - and Lenny, well Lenny has dovetailed neatly with the 'all action' mentality. This morning after we let them out they managed to potter around sensibly for all of 15 minutes before they were off, taking turns to chase and do laps of the garden. There was a pause and I looked up to check that all was fine, which it was - apart from heaving chests....and then they were off again, tearing around. They pop into the office when i'm working if no one else is home, that's their chill/get a breath place. But seems that play and fun is the order of the day, every day. So, so far Lenny's days are a combo of chase, chase, rest, bit more chase, walk, and then in the evenings - chill, chase,chill...he's adapted to knowing which is his food bowl/place, although we have to watch him a bit as he occasionally wanders to try to sample other dishes - and he's very food oriented. I popped an unopened packet of crisps on chair and he sat and watched them for about 10 minutes. Infact he hurt my feelings yesterday, dutifully trotting 2 paces behind me as i wandered from the house down to my office....'ah i thought, he's bonding nicely', err no, i had a sandwich that clearly had caught his nostrils! Off in a mo to take the 2 young ones for a riverside walk. Meantime ( if i t works) will pop a couple of snaps that i took this week.

Lenny has well and truly landed on his feet. He has the best life and is enjoying it as only this cheeky boy knows how. I must admit he was one of the hardest fosters to let go but I know that he will have a better life than I could have given him and will have great fun with Maisie. Give him a hug from me please Mark!

Little update via phone from Mark. Lenny and Maisie love to play, which is what both of them needed,a playmate. He seems well now and Mark and Sue are happy to ADOPT him. That's when MC can get the paperwork done! So.. Lenny will be in Kent and it might be that he may get to one of the Kent walks. xx

Hi Folks, quick update on Lenny.... Well its safe to say that he has truly settled in with us - and the others. He's still a little unsure of himself in some aspects, almost as though he has a split personality. One moment he'll be charging around and finding some new toy to play with ( it was the watering can this week ) - ironic as i noticed various soft toys/ruggy tug/chews when i cut the lawn a couple of days ago...anyway, he has 2 speeds; Full and Off. Basically we'll take him on a walk and as he wanders along we'll catch him yawning, and he'll plod along on the long lead generally a fair few paces behind ( whereas Maisie is 5 paces ahead and keen to explore ever last blade of grass). We'll get home and its like someone has flipped the switch - zoom off he goes chasing around like there's no tomorrow. Often at the end of the evening i have the 2 youngsters in my man cave to make sure that they arent bouncing off the ceiling ; so just to be contrary they'll hunker down on a couple of beds and it'll take a fair amount of cajoling to get Lenny to his feet. He's slowly picking up on some commands when we're out, i say slowly as i'm sure he's thinking 'they can't mean me can they'? We'll say 'Lenny -Wait' and it'll be a 50/50 as to whether that's registered ( generally to the bemusement of Maisie who trots back looking pleased that she's caught on - even if it wasn't aimed at her). This weekend we're taking the 2 of them down to a farm where the owner offers 'sheep proofing'....which i'm looking forward to seeing! He's dovetailed nicely into the household, knows his place when he's eating, has tons of fun and actually has a nice personality. He's quite impressionable - in some ways very puppyish as he apes some things he sees the others doing. Maisie is more like a kangaroo at times, popping up on her hind legs to give cuddles - and Lenny has decided that this seems like a good idea ( he just doesnt have the balance !) When i wandered down to the office today he tagged along and i threw an apple for hm to chase, after a few rounds of that he and Maisie set off around the whole of the garden, leaping the stream, circling the trampoline and burning off some energy...typical, by the time i'd grabbed the camera they were ( i assume ) tuckered out somewhere out of sight. I called Lenny and h trotted up and i threw another apple for him to go after. The video ( if it works ) is the tow of them having a little half hearted play as they were both short of puff.
