Many thanks for the update Dave & Sue - 'tis great to see how well the boys are getting on together, & how well Chester is settling in. My educated guess is that we won't be seeing the lad back here any time soon!

It's so lovely to get these 'early days' updates, especially when things are going so well. Dave & Sue. x

What a lovely update. (Video set to private so not able to view) but the pictures are very sweet. It's great to see Chester so relaxed with Marley 😊

The adorable Chester has arrived in Dorset! He travelled brilliantly in the car. When we arrived home I took Chester to the woods, and Sue brought Marley from home so that they could meet on neutral territory. Lots of wags all round, then after a short walk, they explored the back garden, and had a brief play. Marley was up for it, if a little dominant, but bless him Chester submitted and then came back for more! Once in the house they were both hungry, so food was served and bowl manners were exemplary. He is, unsurprisingly, intrigued by his new surroundings and is now having a good explore! Thanks to Barney for all your work with the little lad, and Penny for transporting him to Jenny's this morning. Thanks as always to you Jenny for your continued commitment to these hounds 👍 We'll keep you informed over the coming days / weeks of progress. If they load properly, here are a couple of pics. Love this!!! So pleased Marley has found a new buddy and so happy that Chester has come to you because we might get to meet him on one of the walks 😊really pleased for you all. Great photos 😁

And how long before those trees and plants in pots get wiped out? I'd really love to hold out a little hope - my sole indoor plant arrangement survived Chester's time here with just the loss of a few leaves, but then again, there was only one of him wanting to play!

Quick update . . . Chester has now been with us just over a week, and is getting on really well. He and Marley enjoy their games in the garden, and he is starting to have time off lead when we are out, where they sniffle together often which is good to see. One of our biggest challenges is his interest in all other dogs we meet. Whilst his initial greeting is very well mannered he then gets a little too focussed on getting the dog to play - even if they don't want to! Some will tell him, but whilst he backs away initially he still goes back for more! Anyway, that is work in progress, and something that, with perseverance, he will learn. My nieces came for the day this week, and loved taking Marley and Chester out for their walks in the rain. They walked well on the lead, and enjoyed exploring the den in the woods with them. We had a wonderful moment in the woods this morning, when, after trotting off along the path and round the corner, with Marley in tow, Chester suddenly appeared with a huge pine cone in his mouth - a trophy that he was clearly very proud of as he strutted towards me as I called him . . . and then straight past me up the path and around another corner and out of sight! I whistled, and called him - I could hear his tags jangling so knew he wasn't far away - but went in search of him anyway. After a short search I found him nose down in the bracken . . burying his trophy!! He then came when called, and whilst a little concerned that Marley might unearth his treasure, didn't need to go back and check and was happy to leave it! Marley and Chester are off on an adventure today . . . a trip to West Wittering, to meet up with friends who have a beautiful 2 year old lurcher called Agy, who is very playful, so I'm sure they'll have blast! Here's a few more pics . . .
