Yikes, heart attack here Barney!!! Please, keep that collar on tight. She has a difficult microchip registration for me to perform and as she was a stolen dog originally and then unclaimed, we really don't want to have to go through explaining it all to the dog warden!

She is a beauty and we found she was very strong in the lead and pulls a lot but settles down a bit after a while. Bless her she got settled in here and then the 2 little 2 legs came home. I'm pleased to say we briefed the kids (Eleanor is 3 and good with dogs for a child her age and Jonny 16 months and does exactly what he likes) but the kids were good and Summer took it in her stride. It was so lovely to have a dog in the house again and have a little cuddle. Sorry we couldn't be of more use as a foster placement but 2 working adults and 2 small kids isn't the ideal environment for most dogs.
Give her ear rufffles from Us Barney. She'll be a fab addition for someone.

A bit more gen on Summer's short sojourn in our home-kennel:
I previously stated that she pulls on the lead, a statement that needs modifying as when onlead she's been mad as a box of frogs! On our lengthy mid-afternoon walk today she was totally different, being absolutely as good as gold until we were five minutes from home, when a very noisy motorbike in the distance spooked her.
She's been enjoying playing with tennis balls & cuddly toys, oh & my trainers, a pair of socks & my slippers, which suffered grievously, (but that was just a timely reminder that they'd reached the end of their useful life ).
Summer has been fine with all dogs she has encountered on our walks, & indoors all has been peace & light with my girls.
She is inquisitive & very lively, (except when she decides 'tis time to commandeer the settee ).
Summer is a lovely lass, & she will doubtless bring a great deal of joy into her forever home - I guarantee there'll never be a dull moment!

Just a quick update. Summer travelled home from the fun day in her crate plus our eleven dogs in the back of the transit. As we were towing a caravan it was a seven hour plus journey and not a squeak out of the sweetheart ! She loves her crate and, now home, chooses to go into it as her 'safe bedroom' even though the door is wide open. She seems absolutely fine with my dogs although Tatty told her off for sniffing him when he was asleep on his throne and chased her out of the lounge, she is now very respectfull of him !! Wish I'd had my camera ! She chose a bed just outside my bedroom door last night, was quiet and clean. She is a little nervous but settling rapidly. Photos will follow as soon as we have recovered from yesterdays drive. Summer is a very beautiful and elegant girl and is clearly a Doberman cross Lurcher, the spitting image of one who we had at St Francis and whose breeding was known. I am looking forward to seeing this girl grow in confidence and am already seeing a very cheeky side to her. Asolutely gorgeous girl !

It all sounds far too stressful there for Tatty. I think he'll have to come & live with me.

A few pics of Summer enjoying the freedom of the paddock. She is extremel fast and agile and gave Fizzy quite a suprise with her speed and turning ability. Racey chase. Oooops !! Brakes !! This one's dangerous ! One very elegant girl (apart from the kinky tail tip, guess an old break) We'll be off to the vets shortly for first vac and check over and to discuss timing for spaying.

Great pics of the lovely lass Sue. Summer couldn't possible have found a better environment & playmates to work off her vast supply of energy whilst thoroughly enjoying herself. Well done for taking her on board.

One very elegant girl (apart from the kinky tail tip, guess an old break) You have Madame Kinky Leg..... so you may as well have Madame Kinky Tail too!! *(wish I had a smilie of someone stirring with a wooden spoon)*
