On Saturday Romi, Donny and I ventured a little way along the coast to meet a couple who had seen Donny on the SLR website. Donny as usual showed how absolutely gorgeous he is (apart from the huge poo in their garden on arrival!) and they fell in love with him. They have passed the home check and already have a lurcher of their own who they rescued back in 2002. I'm so pleased Donny has found a home where someone is around all day because he really is the most loyal companion. There will be tissues at the ready tonight but I have told his new family about the monthly walks and about the forum so I really hope we are going to be able to keep updated on the life of delightful Donny ❤️

I am so pleased Donny has found a forever home. He is certainly a lovely hound. A great fostering job and I'm sending over some virtual tissues for the handover. X

Donny is such a gentle soul. He is not a pushy dog, but he took to Peter and Bernice quickly, and was not OTT with their elderly girlie Bonnie, in fact she was the one making all the running, bless her. I hope that they will all be very happy together, and that we will see them on some of the SLR walks.

We took Donny over to his new family this evening. He has really fallen on all 4 paws with new blankets and a new collar and his favourite treat had been bought for him as well-bulls pizzles! He has got his Human Mum home all day and a Human Dad that loves walking! He might even join us on our September walk at The Happy Cheese which the children are really excited about. Donny you've come into our lives and increased our love for lurchers even more than before (if that was possible) be happy handsome boy. You really are a superstar ❤️

So delighted for Donny, but can understand what a tearful moment it was for you. He was so lucky yo have been fostered by you - you are going to miss him; but hope we all get to see him again on the monthly walks.
Well done all xx

Donny is doing really well in his new home. Very happy. He does have a crusty nose still and the Vets will do just a few more tests to see why this is. Pete sent me a great photo of him doing what he loves to do, bouncing along.

I am really happy for Donny. I get regular updates from his Mum and photos as well which is lovely. It's always interesting to hear different vets opinions, Donny's new vet thinks it might be an infection on his nose that is caused by his teeth being in a bit of a state and the fact that he licks his nose of the time. So he is booked in for a good scale and polish on the 29th. It would be wonderful if this is the solution.
