He's really lovely and would make an ideal companion. He likes his walks an zoomies but also like chilling out - what more could you ask!

He hasn't got my Grandads names but he is equally as gentlemanly as my Grandads 😊

My little JRT (in the pic) died in February. I love and have fostered a sighthound in 2013. I would love to adopt Donnie as I like older dogs but my Son thinks I should adopt a Beagle. I have applied but haven`t heard back from the rescue place and it`s been over a week.
Donnie is so close to me too !
Ooh I don`t know what to do.
Best get him out of my mind.

All the Beagles I know eat dog poo and run away for hours if let off the lead. Donny is a super hound. Why not take your son along to meet him. I'm sure Donny will win him over.

I didn't like to say it but that's what I've heard from speaking to owners of beagles too. I know a lady who owns one (as well as a spaniel and a little terrier) who says as much as she loves him, she'd never have another!! And so does her friend who owns one. Mind you, how many of us have said that about lurchers after they've been naughty?

Well I can certainly substantiate the running off bit of that and also escaping from the garden. Beagles follow their noses, nothing seems to stop them. I've known several over the years and they have all been the same.

Ha ........... now there`s something I couldn`t stand . I mustn`t look at Donnie, I mustn`t look at Donnie - don`t you think his name looks better with an `ie` rather than a `y`. I know if I go and see him - that`ll be it. Son`s opinion won`t come into it Car`s MOT has run out ... naughty me forgot to check when it was due, but will have a word with son.

Surely if you want a dog it is your decision not your sons?

Surely if you want a dog it is your decision not your sons? Exactly - that`s why I put one of these !! But I need him for transport ATM. Well it`s far too hot for neither man nor beast to do anything right now except flunk out in a darkened room .

Give your son a big snog and buy him some beers and maybe a pizza......works for most men.

If you are interested in Donny rather than a Beagle you'll need to email Jenny with information about your home situation and have been house checked. You can find a link to the email address on the SLR website on the Needing Homes page.

I have been home checked - fostered Poppy in 2013.
Poppy`s thread is probably still available somewhere on here.

A lot can change in four years, I know my life has changed considerably in the last 4 years (for the better I'm pleased to say) 😊

No problems there, but as I`ve received no answers to two of my emails, one sent over a week ago, I suspect they`re all on holiday. My garden is probably too small anyway.

Garden size doesn't matter if they get plenty of other exercise.

Jenny's on holiday at the moment. We don't have a large garden, so only mini zoomies can be done, but we have good walks every day.
