We are helping to rehome Donny from his own home. He was rescued by his Dad 4 year's ago and is very much loved. But unfortunately the family have become three, and with Holly now back at work full-time and the baby to sort out, Donny is not getting the exercise that he should be getting. The family have always been active before little two legs came along and they feel really upset that Donny is not having the fun that he used to have. They don't want him to go into kennels and they don't want him to get into the wrong hands. Donny is being neutered on Friday next week and he will then be ready for a new home. He is currently in Essex. He is good with other dogs, but as all Lurchers, will bowl a little dog over in excitement if not checked. He is good with the baby, but is allowed his own space, and of course, baby is not allowed to annoy Donny, so perhaps older children. He shows no aggression towards people or other dogs. But he is nervous at first around men, but okay once he gets to know them. Here is is, the lovely Donny.

What a handsome boy! Hopefully he won't wait too long although I'm sure his family will be heartbroken to say goodbye 😔

We really are heartbroken, he's such a lovely boy. Very sad for you, but what a brave decision to make. I'm sure he'll find a brilliant home with SLR's help.

A very brave and heartbreaking decision but so thoughtful of you to put Donny's needs and happiness before your desire to keep him.

Our oldie Buster goes to his new foster home on Saturday, it will be a wrench for me as we have been together for 8 years. I know it'll be hard for Donny too as he keeps him company (and warm!) I hope we can find him a new home soon where he's not on his own so much.

It was meant to rain today, all day according to the weather forecast, which I now know was a poor forecast! So we went out this morning for a 2 hour walk along the beach and then we met up with friends at the forest this afternoon for another 2 hours! Needless to say everyone is now snoozing away zzzzzzz
Donny slept brilliantly last night. We put his bed in the corner of the bedroom, covered him in a blanket and there he stayed until 8am!! He watched Gem and Missie closely as they played bitey face on our bed but being the very good house guest that he is proving to be he didn't join in! He is strong on the lead but doesn't pull massively, he is great with the children and a lot less timid of them than he is us. He really wanted to join in with racey chasey with the girls while we were out so we took it in turns to jog with him so that he could get a little bit of speed up but he could clearly go a lot faster if he was off the lead. I'm now going to add quite a few photos of the lovely Donny because Jessica has taken quite a few and it seems a shame not to share them!!!

Great update Emma. Sounds like Donny would love a home with kids to play with.

Huge thanks Emma. I love that close up of his face. I'll get that onto the website at some point today. x He has got a very lovely face. Had another quiet night and he has been a very good boy today. Mark had to leave the 3 of them together while he went for a hospital appointment for a couple of hours today and he came back and they were all absolutely fine. He said he isn't even sure that Donny had actually moved while he was out! Another couple of long lead walks today which Donny loves but he is desperate to run with the girls. He has been eating a bit more today and isn't jumping up every time one of us moves so he clearly is beginning to relax a little. He really is a gorgeous boy and like Romi said I think he would be great in a home with some dog savvy kids that aren't going to hassle him too much but also spend time interacting and playing with him. I would love him to find a forever home in the next few weeks so that he hasn't got to go to another foster home. He really would benefit from a bit of continuity.
