I wonder why they have to shave right the way up her leg when the op site is down on her knee....? She's going to need woolly pants to keep her poor little bum warm in this weather! Its looking good though, nice and clean. Sending loads of Heal-Fast Vibes from us lot. I think the vet nurse had already prepped her for the amputation before the vet realised he could save the leg! Doh! Of course. I'm such a Dimwit. I'm so pleased that she is able to keep her leg. And a huge thank you to you Penny for taking care of her. I hope her next fosterer comes along soon to take over the job.

What a good looking result! At least poor little Winnie is out of her pain now and can concentrate on healing. Thanks for looking after Winnie so well, Penny, until a new fosterer is available who can continue your excellent care.

I'm so proud to be part of SLR. We can't save every dog but we know that the ones we can save will get all the medical care they need to set them on their way to a new life. Sending lots of mend soon vibes for Winnie

That is such a neat job, there doesn't even seem to be any bruising, what a good surgeon So pleased it looks like Winnie will keep the leg

Winnie has been very comfortable since coming home and is currently sound asleep in her bed. The fireworks here are horrendous but she doesn't seem bothered in the least! She has a check up on Monday. X

She has her check up at 9.50 and I'm confident it should be ok. It's healing nicely and I have only been giving her tramadol once a day as she just hasn't needed it. (It's up to 3 a day if needed) Yesterday she was even weigh bearing and using it a little. I'll update again later.
