He's gorgeous Claire, and under you care and coaching he will learn all his manners very quickly. Well done and hope Neil is improving.

Well after that batism by fire Cadbury has settled down. For some reason Jethro and Betsy have taken a shine to him. He is old enough to not annoy but young enough to play...he won't join in just yet but I think we may have some fun. I took him up the field on the lunge lead with just Jethro for company, Jethro is quite steady and I think Cadbury needs some guidence of what 'normal family life' is about. It must be a culture shock after farm life. He walked beautifully on lead, no pulling and no attempt to leg it! A few times I let him go to the length of the lead but he returned back to me when called. It was quite funny as him and Jethro was doing 'who could leave the last scent' one tree must have had 10 piddles done on it He wasn't keen to meet new dogs but that is fine, we will get him used to my pack before introducing new dogs, it was a first busy day. He didn't bark at other dogs just didn't like them coming in too close.

I'll bet he doesn't know he's landed in his paws yet. A good start (apart from the coronary he gave you!!). Lovely boy!

Blimey, that was a bit of a mad start to a relationship. Don't envy you for the panic/terror/stress you must have felt while he was touring the neighbourhood. Glad to hear he came back quickly and is now settling for you. Sounds like he's learning who's boss:

First night went really well, you'd never no this boy hasn't lived indoors. He came up to bed with us and I popped a bed beside my bed. He stayed there all night. Neil is still not at all well, his coughing means neither of us get much sleep and I now have a sore throat. (I get man flu!)

Oh rats, do hope Neil is soon feeling much better and that your sore throat doesn't blow up into the full Monty Really glad to hear that, after that mega-dramatic start, young Cadbury had a settled night. Hope the day unfolds well for you all

I love this lad already but hope the fence escapade was just a one-off! He does have the most gorgeous eyes and I'm sure he's already worked out he's somewhere safe and he's sure to flourish with you and your pack. Hope the lurgy doesn't get you and get well soon vibes for Neil xx

I think the escape event was from pure terror. I have kept him on a training lead in the garden and let him go right up to the fences, he shows no sign of wanting to jump. We took him up to Canada Common this morning and he meet a puppy.. Hungarian Vizla No fear shown although he was quite vigilant of other dogs he could see in the distance, he would rather avoid than meet...only at the moment. I really don't think this will be an issue once he gains some confidence. He is going for his first Vacs this afternoon and will be booking in his little boy op I've not had a male come to me entire (except Fergus which was not notable) and find his appendages quite amusing ...he won't be so proud of himself once gone!

I'm still feeling the horrors of him running off... it must have been a nightmare. At least he's realised where he now lives!!!

I'm still feeling the horrors of him running off... it must have been a nightmare. At least he's realised where he now lives!!! It was horrible. I just saw his bum disappear over the gate. Thank doG we live in a quiet crescent although at one point I thought he was going out of the crescent and out onto the main road which leads to the M27! When he ran back in I really thought he had gone out the back garden and over the back fence which leads onto massive woods and a golf course. You know how all sorts of scenarios goes through your head. Remember when Albert did a legger? Well hid in the garden, Well this little kangeroo is not outside without a lead for now. I don't think he will make a habit of it but it will take a little while before I trust Skippy again.

When I first got Ollie he somehow managed to get over a 6 foot high fence when I'd let him out into the garden. The first I knew was when I called him and a neighbour who was out in the street shouted "he's out here Christine". I thought I was going to have a heart attack there and then. I ran outside but he wouldn't come to me - he was very timid back then. My instincts kicked in and a came back into the front garden and stood behind the gate with the gate to the side of the house wide open and he took one look at the side gate and ran straight in and out to the back garden. It sounds like Cadbury had the same shock as Ollie and realised pretty quick that it was safer back with you. I like his new nickname

No muzzle but there were no other dogs except mine. (I don't think he needs one but the rules is da rules) walkies in the evening sunshine I am sure he was comfy but didn't look it. I forgot to mention Cadbury travels very well, hops in the car and lies straight down.
