Oh dear a phantom humper!! Our first dog was one of those - even after his op!!! A water pistol usually stopped his antics!!!!

Uncle Graham has pronounced him fit, and will operate Friday morning. He weighed 15.3kg, and could do with a little bit more flesh. As a youngster he will soon put on more muscle anyway.
He still gets very excited at everything, but we think he is a smidge calmer after his first 24 hours!

I wonder what they were feeding him on.....Bakers maybe? Or high energy puppy food? Get him on some good quality low protein food and hopefully that may help him to calm down a bit.

He should be called MacGhengis, he has a ginger beard I am sure routine and regular exercise will settle him down and having his crown jewels removed

Another good night. We were a bit earlier with our morning walk so there were not so many dogs around to get excited about. It will be good when we are sure of him and can let him off. The field at Manor Farm will be interesting! This afternoon to burn off a bit of energy we had a good session of running up and down the garden after the tennis ball, and today he had a much better idea about bringing it back and dropping it for a repeat. Result: Pooped, but not for long!

Unfortunately the boy has become rather loose at the rear, so didn't sleep through the night, but he did go right back to sleep after his trip down to the garden. Yesterday afternoon we started carrying the water spray on the walk, and squirting his face, combined with a sharp NO! , whenever he started to bark at another dog. This seemed to get through to him quite quickly, so much that this morning he was much better, only getting Barky when a dog came right up to him. Even so, it is only an annoying bark, there is no snarl or nasty intent in it. I'm hoping that a few more days of correction will mostly cure this, and then when he can go off lead he should be fine? I don't think he has had enough chance to meet lots of dogs yet, but a few weeks walking here on Whitecliff he'll get used to it and calm down. He has found the toy box and taken a shine to a big rope pull we have, either shaking it and running around amusing himself, or playing tug with me. He has also become a bit of "my little shadow" ,lying down in whichever dog bed is nearest me, but at least he's relaxed now!

That'll be the terrier in him Keith. To be fair to his relinquishing owners, a lot of owners do not realise that Lurchers, once they start to hit puberty do not need over 20% protein and that anything over that can lead to the youngsters bouncing off the walls and being hyper. I think that added to the fact that his owners couldn't get out to walk him and he had become less socialized than they would like him to have been was why they felt it was the fairest thing to do by Ghengis to get him a new home. xx
Fantastic photos Keith. I am spoilt for choice for the website now.
Those plums definitely need coming off!
