This little man is a lovable little one. Coming in from his own home. He is coming up to a year. Everything friendly. This is what his mum has to say - "He will be 1 year old next month. He is a good temperment and used to young children as we have a 2 year old. We have had him since a very small pup. He isn't neutered but is up to date with all injections. He is a very loving dog and loves a good belly rub and a bit of attention, but he is also a not so little bundle of energy! It saddens us to be having to re home him but to keep him would be selfish, when he does so much more . Really hope you can help, please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you taking the time to help us, we really appreciate it".

LOL. Now I know my geography is bad Tina, but I know Dorset comes before Devon, at least geographically from this end!
And Claire, your family are earmarked for little Meg. I haven't had your homecheck through yet!

Just ran into this new boy this afternoon and he was really enjoying his outing -just gorgeous.

The new boy travelled very well in the car, just lay down close behind me for the whole journey, only lifting his head when we slowed down occasionally. Lorna and Hugo greeted him OK, but he wanted to play with Hugo more than Hugo wanted to play with him. He pulls like a train when on the lead, but tomorrow we'll try a harness, and hope that as he gets used to our routine he will calm down!
He was very keen to play with all the other dogs on the field, and barked sometimes in his frustration. We'll find an enclosed field to give him a good blast.
He ate up all his tea, but not gobbling it...and of course he wanted to lick out the other two bowls as well.
He is finding it difficult to settle down with the rest of us. He seems to think that because Hugo is lying there he must be wanting to play, but Hugo is unmoved!
We'll sleep him in a crate tonight, to guarantee a quiet night........we hope!

Sounds like he has some pent up energy to get rid of Keith! A few days of running around with Hugo and I'm sure he'll calm down (a bit). Well done you and Mollie for taking him in.

He slept well in the crate beside our bed from around 10.30 through to 7.00 when Mollie had to get up for a wee. I took him straight down to the garden and he obliged with both.
This boy is overdue for his little boy's op. Yesterday evening while we were watching tv in the lounge, he was in the kitchen humping one of the dog beds! He is at it again as I sit here in the kitchen writing this. The funny thing last night was that in his enthusiasm he lost his balance and fell over on one side-still humping!
He can lie still on a bed, but it never lasts long as any little noise, or movement from the rest of us makes him get up to see if it means PLAY!?
He is a lovely friendly boy though, there is no malice or aggression in him, just gallons of energy. His new home needs to be stimulating, either another young dog to play with, or older children who would play properly with him. He will run after a ball over and over again, but hasn't cottoned on to bringing it back yet!
Out on the field we notice that he makes more fuss trying to get over to smaller dogs, rather than dogs of his own size or bigger. Perhaps he sees them as easy meat for a chase! He greets other dogs with interest and respect, but immediately wants them to play, even though he is on his lead. We have found that he is more comfortable with the harness on, and doesn't pull .......quite as much!
He is seeing Graham at 4.30 this afternoon to see if he's fit for an op........soon, please!
