A lorryload of smelling salts will now be required in Cornwall. And probably Surrey too. Definitely gone all heart-melty this side of Surrey. Would have needed internet to fail, blindfold and ear muffs issued until a safehouse was found for wee meg.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I was waiting until she had been seen by the vet again which happened yesterday. She has a gel dressing on her tail and it is healing well, she is even holding the end of her previously limp tail up which is great to see. She has also put on 600g. in the last week and the vet was happy to give her her first injection and a wormer. The only slight drawback to the newer type of vaccinations is that she now has to wait three weeks for the second one, then one week before it is safe for her to be out and about, so another month all told. I tried carrying her out but she wriggles so hard it is nearly impossible to contain her. Yet she was a star at the vet's, waiting quietly on my lap to be seen and enduring her injection without a murmur. She does chatter like all salukis though and kept the room entertained. I was slightly worried about her long front legs bowing out a bit at the wrists but the vet reassured me her bones were straight and it was not a worry. We seem to have turned a corner today. She is finally settling down into her routine, has started migrating towards the outside door when she needs the toilet and is showing a bit more respect towards the other dogs who have stopped taking evasive action every time they see her coming. To her credit, she sleeps through the night until 6.30, has not soiled her crate once, has a healthy appetite and is a delight to have around. As you would expect she is very playful, has oodles of energy and is showing signs of the legendary saluki stamina and determination. She is also very affectionate and lavish with her kisses, can already leap three feet straight up in the air and would do zoomies for ever if allowed. She now knows her name, puts her head into the cone when it needs to go back on, gets into her crate when asked and has worked out how to tell where the water level in the bowl is in spite of having very stumpy whiskers, probably broken off at some time. All in all, she seems a happy puppy and I am a happy fosterer. Sorry about the lack of pics. Neil is away this week and I tried some shots but she moves too fast for my phone!

Aww she is just too cute, love those ears How lovely, she is so innocent and is going to know nothing but love and kindness in her life now. Love that you had to take her out with an umbrella, how typically diva saluki!
