Very sorry to hear this. I know it's ultimately for the right reasons to give them both (& Rosemary) a chance to move forward, although tis a great shame nonetheless.

Unfortunately no. John's widow is unable to go this far and cannot cope with both girls on lead. x

Lily and Poppy are now in their new home - together! It is still relatively early days but they have been with their new family now for a little while and Rosemary telephoned last week to let me know that they seem to be settling well. It was a great sadness for Rosemary to have to let the girls go, but handling Lily and Poppy was way too much for her - she and John had talked about this in the weeks leading up to his death and agreed that rehoming Lily and Poppy was the only viable option. It is therefore the hugest relief to Rosemary to know that the girls are settled and happy together with a really lovely couple who are lurcher-savvy. Just a couple of pics of the girls in their new home: Have a good life with your new family Lily and Pops. Your dad would be so happy to know that you are together and being well-loved

Thanks for the update , Audrey. So pleased they are settled on their new permanent sofa. As you say, a relief for Rosemary and I am sure John is looking down and smiling.

Such great news for everyone concerned. I love it that they have already abandoned dog beds.... I mean, who would sit on a dog bed!!!

Thanks for the update Audrey. I'm so pleased that Lily and Poppy have found a new home. It was so distressing to think of them needing to find a new forever home and now they've found it. The happy ending that everyone wanted.

Excellent news! I was looking through the list of SLR hounds seeking homes recently and wondered how they were/are doing. So happy to hear they've found a wonderful new home.
