He is the perfect house guest. Our pack are doing their usual of telling him who is top of the pack and that he is not, but he doesn't rise to anything. In fact he hasn't made any sort of sound at all since he arrived, including the usual yarn noise! We think he has some hearing impediment. I have clapped my hands behind him and only when I repeatedly did it he turned round. I clanged the dog bowls together and he turned, but not as a feared response, just as if he only just heard it. He slept all night in the crate downstairs, not a peep. No accidents since trying to mark the kitchen table. I have kept him on lead most of the time as Mims is giving him the evil snaps and he just wants to say hello. But he has already learnt that the patio is the place to head for when he is let out of the crate. I don't think he is going to be a jumper as he gets his front legs on the sofa and then has to be lifted onto it. He checks out the worktops but not to countersurf, but just to be curious. He doesn't devour his food. He is a bit thin but not overly. He is not overly knotted, and I now think the estimate of 18 months is wrong, and he is probably 10-11 months. But he is so well behaved. I think he has been kennelled for long periods as he is ok with his own company, and when I take him onto the patio he seeks the sides to wee and to poo tightly into the side of the patio as if to do it away from his environment. A lot of kennel dogs tend to find a tight corner to defecate so that they don't walk in it. He is very friendly, even when the gang here tell him off. He just wags. He likes to sit on your lap! with his bum towards you. And he likes tea!! He helped me drink mine this morning when I let my guard down. Apart from humming still I can't find fault with him at the moment. But we all know... day four is the day they come out of their shells. But he is so sweet. I got some more photos this morning.

He is so sweet and will have plenty of fun with Hugo and Lorna. So glad Keith and Mollie are having him.

He'd be no good here, all i would want to do is cuddle him. He looks so sweet, what a cute face. I cannot imagine him being around in foster for long.

Bless him, he is a darker version of scamp my first foster, except he doesn't eat car seat belts, door frames, cushions, dog beds and the pony's saddle.

Picked up Tatty from Mike and Jillian after their mammoth road trip. Thank you very much to them for getting him down here so quickly.
He is not as small as he looked, in that he is as tall as Hugo, but desperately skinny under that fluffy coat. He is certainly keen to fix that, his feet are up at the edge of the work tops at any opportunity, so there are lots of shouts of Down! And No! At the moment, but I'm sure he'll soon get the hang of civilised behaviour!
He is certainly not deaf, as he was looking at all the new noises here, such as our striking clock in the kitchen. Nor is he dumb! While out with the crowd on Whitecliff this afternoon he was bouncing on the end of the lead, wanting to run and play with the others, and his frustration built up so much he was barking and singing briefly!
We're off to see Uncle Graham shortly for his first check up and to plan his treatments....vaccine, neutering etc.
We'll be glad when he has been "done", as he might stop wanting to mark everything with a drip of wee!

Well done Mike and Jillian - that was a mammoth journey. Pleased Tatty has come out of his shell and vocalising.

Thank god he has found his ears and voice. And yep, the poor soul tries to pee up everything on the patio and just succeeded in peeing down his own legs. Another bath may be necessary before cuddles! He has a lovely little temperament though, and I hope once he has his bits off he will be able to have a good run around with the others. Thank you so much for taking him Keith. I still think he is tinyxx

Graham has checked him over. Good heartbeat, good teeth, ears clean as a whistle, but rather underweight at 10 kilos. He recommends 4or5 small meals a day for a while to build him up, so that's what we'll do. As his male items are well formed and pendulous he reckons an age of 18 months might be right. He will be relieved of those two items next Wednesday. For now he has had his first vaccine and a worming pill, next vaccine after his op.
