How about Merry, or Mercy?
As the vet seems to have given her an initial to go on.

Decided on a Christmas theme and her name is Evie. Hope you like it.
She has slept all day. I fed her at 6.15 then took her for a quite slow but long walk round the garden. She finally did her business after 15 mins and then back indoors.
Now sleeping again on her own in the dogs room.
She is not ready yet to mix with my four, just too tired and just wants to sleep and eat.
Ps Carol, it would be lovely if you could visit and get to see Evie, just phone me.

Evie what a lovely name, I will call you in a couple of days, give Evie time to rest and get over The anesthetic. Thanks Elaine. X

Evie spent all day yesterday asleep apart from when I took her outside to go to toilet
She has been the same today. In a very deep sleep virtually all day. The only way I can get her to stand up is tempting her with somethings to eat.. She is totally exhausted and completely shattered.
She does wag her tail a little when I talk to her but I think it will be a couple more days before she shows interest in anything else except for food. She is in the room that we call the dogs room which is attached to kitchen so I can keep an eye on her all the time but it is quiet.
Back to vets on Monday unless I am worried about anything.

Poor Evie but sleep is the best medicine. It will also give her leg time to start healing. Thank you for giving her a safe haven Elaine.

Evie went back to vets yesterday and the vet removed her bandaging and said it was looking good. Much to my surprise he said it would be better if there was no dressing on the leg. When we got home I had to put a cone on her as she wanted to lick the wound. She accepted this with no problem at all.
I have put another crate up in the living room so that she can be with us and this afternoon left the door open. She headed straight to me on the setter and cuddled up and for the next hour I stroked, cuddled and talked to her. She is very affectionate.
I put her back in crate as I had things to do but let her out again later and she is now flat out in front of the fire. My dogs are keeping a wide berth ATM and Evie is not particularly worried about this. She loves humans and is catching up on cuddles. She is now on a rug in front of the log burner fast sleep.
I am very pleased with how she is healing. Back to vets next Tuesday.
