I gave up all pretence at working today so have started Xmas hols early! Update on the morning's activities: PreambleBozzer must have a death-wish as he nimbly and swiftly climbed the stairs to encounter our cat. There is a stair-gate to stop the boys going further, but the cat can go both ways. Now, our cat is a feisty bar-steward (big and part Norwegian Forest Cat). He's obviously been reading Sun Zu's 'The Art of War' or something because he believes in bringing the fight to the enemy. So far, no harm done, but we are going to have to discourage upstairs visits. Part 1Comet chasing Bozzer around the garden at full speed doing lots of neck biting and letting him know that whilst he is the smallest of the dogs in the pack he is definitely the big kahuna, and you better believe it! Part 2Some frisbee throwing. Bozzer does not seem to get this but was happy to try and steal it off Snoop once he caught it. Part 3Snoop and Comet trying to teach Bozzer how to lie in a big puddle and get yourself super-soggy. Bozzer is either too smart or not smart enough (not sure which!) and wasn't up for his swimming lesson. Part 4Doing a perimeter patrol to learn the lay of the land and find the water buckets. Part 5Comet switched into chase-me mode and Snoop went tearing after him with Bozzer some way behind but valiantly attempting to stay in the game. He doesn't have the pace or stamina yet to keep up with our two insaniacs but that will come with more off-lead crazy time. Wrap-upIn and around this curriculum was a lot of weeing and some poohing. A solid one from Bozz and then a sloppy one. Could be change of diet and the excitement. When I brought them back in and cleaned Comet and Snoop down, Bozz crashed on the door mat in a panting heap. He does a lot of panting and I am putting this down to some anxiety at the moment (plenty of water available). His lovely coat does suck up water like a sponge and his back legs have got some clags going on that we'll aim to clip/comb out. He is a lovely boy with a super temperament! A handsome beast too - I think he takes after his foster-dad I did shoot some movie footage but it's nothing special so I won't upload it - I wanted to focus on watching the boys behaviour together. He has so much energy and was constantly bouncing around trying to eat the Christmas decorations and un-wrap presents. After his session in the garden he seems to have spent that energy and is now lying beside me on his bed. Result! Now - how am I going to mop the kitchen and utility room with these three mad muppets around?

Lovely update. The panting is prob partly unfit, exhilaration and uncertainty all rolled into one. Can wait for a video.

It sounds like Boris is in the perfect foster home I'll second that. And mopping floors is over-rated.....also pretty futile.

Lovely update. The panting is prob partly unfit, exhilaration and uncertainty all rolled into one. Can wait for a video. I think you're absolutely right Heather. He's definitely both anxious and exhilarated at the moment. Our boys just left for their outing to daycare and he's now rather anxious without them even though both Steffan & I are here. Barney mentioned he has SA and that seems to be right, for the moment at least. He's had a lot of change in his life recently so I hope it can be alleviated and maybe even eliminated over time with a stable environment and a few "tricks of the trade" (diffuser, collar etc). Fortunately, the SA doesn't seem to trigger destructive behaviour, although he hasn't been left entirely on his own here yet, and is unlikely to be because there would always be the boys around if we popped out. He does like to chew and is making good use of our antler horns... so, at least I know what to get him for Christmas. Barney: thanks for sending him with some of his familiar toys. He does get time with those too, although I need to be watching otherwise Snoop would have them in pieces within a few seconds.

" biffybob " Barney mentioned he has SA and that seems to be right, for the moment at least. He's had a lot of change in his life recently so I hope it can be alleviated and maybe even eliminated over time with a stable environment and a few "tricks of the trade" (diffuser, collar etc). One "trick of the trade" that seemed to work very well during his last week or so here was to smear his muzzle with peanut butter, which gave him summat to think about other than his human's temporary absence from the home-kennel. Fortunately, the SA doesn't seem to trigger destructive behaviour, although he hasn't been left entirely on his own here yet, and is unlikely to be because there would always be the boys around if we popped out. Um, t'other day I thought that the Andrex pup had sneaked in, as a toilet roll appeared in the lounge, preceded by a trail of small bits of it........................ There was also the matter of insoles from slippers & walking boots being 'interfered with', oh, & my razor disappeared from the bathroom a few days ago & turned up under the duvet on my bed............ Barney: thanks for sending him with some of his familiar toys. He does get time with those too, although I need to be watching otherwise Snoop would have them in pieces within a few seconds.[/quote] As long as neither Snoop nor Boris have each other in pieces.................

Great update. He must have had such fun running with your boys, and I bet it won't be long before he's keeping up with them. Looking forward to seeing the photos and video.

The more they get to run and play the less they think of getting up to mischief. Hopefully!!

Boris had a lovely Christmas Day! He may have stolen & opened his present a little early....he loves frisbee, so that's what it was. In fact, he got 2 frisbees and a rope toy to chew. He loves to chew, but we've only found him chewing the right things (antlers, doggy toys) or on Snoop/Comet. He is learning to sit on request; turkey is proving a suitable motivational treat. He's kiddie friendly too. We have my 5 year old niece staying over and he's been very good. Playful, but not over-interested. Here he is resting after a busy Christmas Day...
